food - small sampling: green beans, rye bread, stir-frys,
pineapple(especially on pizza), thai cuisine, milk, indian cuisine,
orange juice, reese's peanut butter cups, broccoli, meat,
honeycrisp apples, celery(it's crunchy water, people!!), non-meat,
beans, raisinets, santa fe pizza from Varsity Pizza in west philly,
honey roasted peanuts, chinese takeout, hummus, fresh
locally-produced food(yay farmer's market across the street from
me!).
music - interesting to look back on all of the music I've
listened to in the past 10 years or so, every genre comes and goes
in cycles of course; jazz though has always been there. I just love
it! preferably in a live setting, but WRTI works just as well.
aside from that, probably all kinds of stuff nobody else on here
likes. I <3 wefunkradio.com(this is
internet radio at its best. a delicious blend of hip-hop, soul, and
funk in healthy 2 hour long doses. so good. so, so, good!!). but I
can always listen to miles davis. NIN and tool are nice.
as are the grateful dead and allman brothers. classical pieces work
for me too. hip-hop from the 80's and early-mid 90's makes me
happy. wu-tang
clan is gritty, grimy, and forces uncontrollable head-bobbing.
dragonforce is nice music to drive to. pink floyd; forever will be
my love. & many many many many others I also classify as great.
honestly, I haven't listened to any current music in a long time.
I'd like to amend that sooner rather than later.
books -currently reading The Stand(yeah yeah a lot of
people loathe Stephen King, and guess what...I don't care!) and
just finished reading Life Of Pi - it was 100% wonderful.
Suggestions for what's next? Other somewhat recent finishes
include....Harry Potter series(yes, I'm aware that I'm 30 and JUST
got around to reading them), The Omnivore's Dilemma, American Gods,
A Thousand Splendid Suns, etc. Confederacy of Dunces by John
Kennedy Toole was another recent one; immediately became one of my
all time faves. love Bill Bryson's wit and style. need more
bookzzzz!! formerly read other works of non-fiction, fiction,
horror/suspense, cultral anthropology, quantum theory, etc.
tv - cable-less, but at least I have Netflix(Portlandia,
Breaking Bad, American Horror Story-|holy crap season 1 was so
good!!!!|-, jury is still out on The Walking Dead however...),
Jeopardy, endless Seinfeld and 30Rock re-runs, the 3 Stooges at odd
hours, Simpsons seasons 4-10 on dvd, and easily downloadable Curb
Your Enthusiasm episodes.
movies - Woody Allen. Mel Brooks.
Kung-Fu. Nerdy Sci-Fi. B-Horror. John Candy. {{Who Framed Roger
Rabbit, Ghostbusters(I), Back To The Future(I-III), Spaceballs}} =
the movies I can and will watch over and over and over again and
never get tired of. etc.
