I'm a midwesterner displaced or maybe well-placed in NYC...trying to figure it out. Working on a degree in Women's Studies and Political Science with a minor in Environmental Science. Serious about anti-oppression. Feminist. Environmentalist. Liberal sometimes radical. (I don't really like labels or all the things necessarily associated with these categories, but hey, it's a self-summary...)

I enjoy playing sports for fun with friends like tennis, soccer, frisbee, etc. I've been trying to bike in the city this year but I need someone who actually does it more often to show me the ropes--cabs, buses, crazy drivers, pedestrians, traffic lights, sidewalks, rules...ahh!

I also really like cooking with fresh veggies--my latest tries this fall have been with acorn squash and beets. I love tasting food and trying to guess what ingredients are in it. Baking was my first love--mixing chocolate and raspberries is divine.

I'm really close with my big family, and I spend a lot of time thinking about them and keeping in touch because we're all spread out.

i have to buy new headphones almost monthly because i go to sleep listening to soothing voices read me jane austen or kate chopin (for the last 6 months, i've been on those two authors) and then i rip the headphones out of my ears in the middle of the night
