Over the course of a year, my friend and I developed a business plan, refined our recipes, secured a location/financing and built out the restaurant. During the next two years, we successfully operated our little venture and weathered the many ups and downs that so often accompany the food service industry with good humor and a few late nights at the bars!
While in Seattle, I unexpectedly received a dream job offer to work for a non-profit in Santa Monica. After much thought, I ultimately decided to sell my shares in our restaurant, plunge into the non-profit world and move back home.
Thus far, I can say it’s been an amazing decision and move. I love living in LA (crippling traffic aside) and look forward to reacquainting myself with the city.
