We'll be famous friends if you like sarcasm and wit, if you have
been known yourself to indulge in (or can tolerate) localized
pretentiousness (i am a lit snob, for instance, and enjoy getting
all puffed up and nerding out about that stuff), if your tastes are
broad and varied, and if you can discuss an issue on which we may
not agree, without closing your ears and just waiting for your next
turn to talk.
I want to come home to, alternately:
a. find someone has ninja-cleaned my apartment in my absence
b. find everything exactly as i left it
a. find an amazing party is already underway
b. quiet, and a righteous nap
a. a person that sweeps me up, changes my shoes and takes me
b. a pair of arms to coil around me, firm and warm.
What I’m doing with my life
i'm a spanish interpreter, which i love, love love. I am a writer,
but no longer professionally. I consistently assault my liver,
especially when we can pretend it's for a good cause (charity happy
hour you say? delicious). I am learning french, which i am
(arguably) over-excited about. For some reason, i always get conned
into staying out way, way later than i ought to on wednesdays. i
don't know what it is about wednesdays, but apparently i am unable
to behave like a grown up past 430 in the middle of the week.
I’m really good at
driving too fast. beating you at word games. spelling when drunk.
The first things people usually notice about me
how desperately they need to be my buddies, like, yesterday. OR
that i have tripped over soemthing in a slapstick, fantastic way,
but am pretending it never happened, in a thin attempt to retain my
dignity, and not burst out laughing myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
far too many to here list.
...but since you asked, a sample:
Jitterbug Perfume, The Road, Everything is Illuminated, The Time
Traveler's Wife (movie = terrible affront to a beautiful work),
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Jesus' Childhood Pal.
Across the Universe, Lars and the Real Girl, Casino Royale, The
Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Empire Records.
Adele, Amy Winehouse, Boys Like Girls, Juanes, Carbon Leaf. (I love
music, but am too lazy to find it. i am always excited to have my
musical horizons broadened)
Sushi, Frozen yogurt, Tacos, Tapas, Thai. (etc, etc, etc.)
The six things I could never do without
1. my fake tears ever since my LASIK surgery which is SO AWESOME. i
2. good friends to tell my stories to, who'll help me drink
3. wine. (certified wino.)
4. sunshine (lived in syracuse ny for a while....never knew how
much a girl who burns in 8 minutes could crave the sun)
6. absurd, and therefore hilarios behavior
I spend a lot of time thinking about
if i can wait another day to do the dishes before mold grows. the
answer is almost always, "let's see"
On a typical Friday night I am
dinner, drinks, dancing or pool
You should message me if
you know, you are awesome. etc.
