What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Kind of making it up as I go, I guess. I've got a challenging rewarding career, I'm seeing lots of great bands, writing and playing music, and having a pretty good time.

Living it, I guess is what I am doing with my life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
improvising melodies and solos over funky music. Give me some chords, I'll give you back a sick solo on the fly.

I feel like my eyebrows are somewhat striking, if eyebrows can be said to be such a thing.

Really into anything that can make you move and feel good, so funk is key: Galactic; Greyboy; Robert Walter, Stanton Moore, Karl Denson, Will Bernard, those guys in any arrangement, New Mastersounds, Juno What?!, Lettuce, Motet, Turkuaz.

Other bands I'm really into these days -- Blitzen Trapper, The Sheepdogs, Delta Spirit, The Head and the Heart, Blind Pilot, Dr Dog, Of Monsters and Men, Phosphorescent.

Books -- Anything by PKD, Hitchhiker's Guide, Bonfire of the Vanities, Altered Carbon, A Canticle for Leibowitz, anything by Nick Harkaway, Paolo Bacigalupi, Margaret Atwood, Ian M Banks, or Alastair Reynolds. I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic novels. I am fascinated by stories where the world goes to hell and ordinary people are made to deal with extraordinary circumstances.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There needs to be something great happening on a Friday for me to want go out. The call of the sweatpants is strong on a Friday night after a long work week. But if there's a great band playing, then I'll be there.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Life is pretty scary when you get right down to it. Each of us is so incredibly fragile, our grip on life is so tenuous and insubstantial. In the bigger picture, our lives are so fleeting as to be infinitesimal when compared whole of humanity, and humanity is so utterly insignificant when compared to a tiny fraction of a tiny fraction of our galaxy (and you could continue from that point!)

So, here we are, essentially irrelevant on just about any scale larger than our typical day-to-day life, keeping our tenuous grip on this "existence" thing. We're able to acknowledge both of these points and yet still go on feeling as if things in our lives are super important.

It's frightening and it's freeing. All this could end tomorrow in some insane way we can't even imagine and yet we're still here, doing our mating dances, squirreling away nuts for the winter, and making silly creations.

And laughing. Might as well laugh a bit while you're here, right?

music moves you. If you're the type of person who loves dancing your face off to great live music. If you're looking to connect, to put yourself out there and see what happens, to experiment and learn and grow.

If the idea that every new person you meet could prove to be the greatest person you ever meet fills you with optimism and excitement.
