I am silly on the net, earnest in town, and Jack in the country.

My Self-Summary

Mostly just the average guy I guess. Maybe a tad more idealistic, perhaps with a tiny bit more of Rock'n'Roll than your average Scooter or DJ Something fan.

And I got a handy flowchart:

What I’m doing with my life

working my ass off of course! Well, and having fun with life.

I’m really good at

Learning new stuff in a pinch. People often say that I'm kind of a jack-in-all-trades sometimes.

Apart from that, you could look forward to pancakes, well-mixed White Russians, incoherent ramblings, well-put explanations for something, philosophical diatribes and the occasionall odd surprise.

The first things people usually notice about me

Apparently the sideburns.

After that, I hope my good looks and sharp humor :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:

I used to make a point of re-reading the Hitchhiker omnibus and the Lord of the Rings once a year. By now, I've stopped that, simply due to lack of time and too much other stuff.

Generally, I'm into SF, Fantasy or just cleverly told stories. Be it Stephenson, Niffenegger, R.R. Martin, Boyle, Dahl... there's heaps of good books out there, begging to be read.

Movies:

No idea which one's the favorite. "Being John Malkovich" is the best Mindfuck though, and the old Dune movie the oddest epic. Incidentially, I own and actually watch&rewatch more than a few dozen DVDs.

Music:

Gabba Gabba Hey hey!

Food:

Anything but shrimps and 'shrooms I guess. Apart from that, there's an old saying: Coffee for the mind, Pizza for the body, Sushi for the soul....

The six things I could never do without

No idea really... so far, nothing physical I've lost was missed for long. Internet connectivity is something I cherish though :-)

All the people I love and care for are still around somehow thankfully.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

...just anything. I like thinking, I rarely don't do it. Often enough, I even talk about what I'm thinking.

On a typical Friday night I am

being typical me. That may include wild but funny-looking dancing, but also quiet evenings behind a book. Ask me next friday for details.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

When I'm on the road for my job, I enjoy watching silly romantic TV series like Gilmore Girls or the weekly "romantic movie" on the hotel TV.

It's my guilty pleasure...

You should message me if

..you really want to. I'm not very discriminating in such things, as long as you don't insult me or my intelligence. If you think this could be billed as being romantic, it's a bonus: http://www.xkcd.com/162/ (xkcd is a must in my book)

Mind, it may be that the conversation peters out after a few exchanges, but I'll honestly give it a try.
