My self-summary
I'm a bookish unemployed college student looking for cynical girl to laugh at his jokes and watch highbrow movies with. I like to have a good time, but my definition of a good time is probably different from most people. I think too much, so I like to do things that empty my head, like go for long bike rides or driving around aimlessly.
What I’m doing with my life
Going to school, getting into EMS, worrying about making car payments, maybe converting to Eastern Orthodoxy.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating, and I'll fill the rest out later.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look like someone they know, and yet I've never met someone who looks very similar to me, barring family and middle age stand up comedians.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like depressing literature (think Dostoyevsky and Joyce Carol Oates) and Superman comic books. I will probably never finish Infinite Jest. Every month I try to read a non-fiction book on a subject I'm interested in (Religion, Psychology, History), but I don't always succeed.

I don't really watch much TV outside of nature documentaries, but I like dark comedies like Louie and It's always sunny. The fourth season of Battlestar Galactica convinced me that TV shows can't tell a good dramatic story from beginning to end, and since then my TV has largely been an expensive mirror.

I like Radiohead, Modest Mouse, The Doors, Mogwai and other passive aggressive bands, but I like to think I'm fairly eclectic. The Shins is probably the most light hearted band i listen to. I'm rather religious but I hate any kind of religious music written in the last 150 years unless Johnny Cash or Sufjan Stevens is singing it.

My faviorate movies tend to be about fairly eccentric people (Into The Wild, Pi, The Machinist, ect) because it makes me feel a little less insane.
The six things I could never do without
I'm afraid to list things because then I'll lose them, but in no particular order.
Need my car to get around.
Need my dog to be nice to.
Need God to give me hope
Need my phone to ignore people in crowds.
Need my bike to get something resembling exercise.
Need my computer to read and write.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
School, money, bike touring, what the hell I'm doing with my life, religion, what the job prospects of philosophy majors are, sex, how long before I have all the pre-recs for Stonybrook's nursing program, and how long before I pay off all my credit card debt.
On a typical Friday night I am
Returning videotapes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have just discovered firsthand why you shouldn't boil chopmeat.
