My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Honestly, if you're not crazy, then we'll be able to have a normal conversation. It will probably end up being only that, but meeting people is the fun part anyway.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do freelance musician stuff--arranging, editing, composing, but mostly orchestral score layout. In between those, I work on my own music, listen to other people's, and sometimes just veg out. I also sing with a really awesome choir!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making penne alla vodka. I have no idea why.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: Airplane!, American Beauty, Breakfast Club, Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Serenity, Manos: The Hands of Fate (and MST3K in general.)
Books: Not a big fan of fiction, but there are always exceptions. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, anything Terry Pratchett. Random eye-openers like Deborah Tannen, Elizabeth Kübler-Ross, Neil Rackham. Also a huge fan of William Shakesman.
Music: Mostly anything except country, bluegrass, and anything earlier than 1850. I'm a 90's nerd and can name/play nearly every popular song from then. Also a mild obsession with Suzanne Vega.
Food: I'll try anything. Just can't do spicy, no matter how hard I try. Cooking is very fulfilling.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Guitar: I am a lost cause. I do chordal analysis on whatever I hear, whether it's Bach or Nicki Minaj. No really, it's sickening.
Kitchen: Current apartment has 2 square feet of counter space, and I am withering away.
Intelligent conversation: I love hearing other people's ideas.
4-6: I got nothing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
why people get up in arms over the mispronunciation "Febuary", but no one takes a closer look at how we pronounce "iron".
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing, or hanging out with friends and getting sloshed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I almost drowned when I was 5, and as a result I've never learned to swim.
