Gertrude Stein is my favorite author, and I have no idea what she's
talking about most of the time.
Here's a list of books I like: Zami: A New Spelling of My Name by
Audre Lorde, My Year of Meats by Ruth L. Ozeki, Striking at the
Roots by Mike Hawthorn, To Do: A Book of Alphabets and Birthdays by
Gertrude Stein, The Ethical Slut by Dossie Easton and Catherine A
Liszt, Harvest for Hope by Dr. Jane Goodall, All About Love by bell
hooks, Wherever You Go There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn, The Case
for Animal Rights by Tom Regan, The Sexual Politics of Meat by
Carol Adams, The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk, and The Wisdom of
the World's Oldest People by Jerry Friedman.
Right now I'm reading How the Universe got its Spots by Janna
Levin. It's fantastic.
My two favorite movies are Dirty Dancing and Talledega Nights, but
mostly I like to watch documentaries. I don't like TV at all.
I love to listen to people play the piano. My favorite types of
music include funk, western swing, salsa, blues, jazz, and classic
country music. I love all cheatin' songs, any style. Some of my
favorite musicians are Merle Haggard, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday,
and Linda Ronstadt.
Some favorites: all things kale
(kale chips, kale smoothies, baked
kale, braised kale, kale salad, massaged kale...), popcorn with
nootch, cherries, almonds, peanut butter, watermelon gazpacho,
sweet potatoes, cashew cream, flax crackers, avocados, asparagus,
I love New Mexican fare and super spicy Thai dishes.
