My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Writer/editor for a wine startup by day. Patron of San Francisco's trivia dives, sushi bars, comedy shows, and poetry slams by night. Enjoy travel, adventure, and filling my Netflix queue with cerebral documentaries but eventually opting to watch toilet humor. Sucker for cute animal videos as much as the next girl. Curiosity is important. Nature is cool.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Born in Moscow, Russia. Raised in Arizona and New York (but not "New York, New York" New York). Liberal arts school in Boston. Moved to the west coast a couple years ago for an e-commerce writing job and stayed for the wonderful people and sweater weather. Working on what someone once called my "SF accent" (sarcasm) ever since.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, editing, communicating, self-motivating, keeping an open mind, overthinking, taking things too seriously, longing for someone who will remind me not to take things too seriously, getting along with other people's dogs, being playful at inappropriate times, being painfully aware of clichés, not caring whether or not you dress well, making resolutions to cook more, and staying true to that John Waters quote: “If you go home with somebody and they don't have books, don't fuck 'em!"
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm "vaguely ethnic." That I might not be a natural redhead. That I play close to the vest. That I have only one dimple. That I nod encouragingly while the other person is talking, sometimes to the point of distraction.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Currently reading "The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P." and regularly poring over the works of: Salman Rushdie, Sherman Alexie, Miranda July, Aimee Bender, Bill Bryson, Kazuo Ishiguro, Etgar Keret, Dave Eggers. Hemingway's style is easy to mock but it speaks to me loudest. Suggestions always welcome.

Movies: "This is the End" and "The Way Way Back" were big hits recently. I generally like comedies of the not-strictly-romantic variety, plus nostalgic, coming-of-age stuff and the occasional gratuitous gore.

TV Shows: I mostly watch reruns of 30 Rock, SNL, Parks and Recreation, The Mindy Project, New Girl, The Office, etc. Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and Orange is the New Black, of course.

Music: Foot-stomping Americana and Irish pub stuff. Electronic dance when I'm working. Top 40 remixes when I'm working out. Lately I've been really into Motown covers...?

Food: I skew pescatarian but have been known to order a lengua taco or two. Will try anything once.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This might be cheating because it's either less or way more than six, but: other people. People constantly amaze me and, if they don't give you love, they'll at least give you perspective.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The cost of an American education and whether or not I Instagram too much, among other things. Too many things, actually. I think there's something to be said for a quiet mind, being "in the now" and all that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out somewhere with friends, unless I've had "one of those weeks" that needs to end in a pedicure appointment, a long run, or a solo trip to the movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Since I'm an editor, I'll admit to proofreading this bio several times. I get excited when someone I think is cute can also construct a good sentence, but I won't snub you solely because you spell the word "you" just U instead of Y-O-U. Also, I'm into dinosaurs and planetariums. Let's do this.
