My self-summary
Originally from Colorado (with a stint in the frigid tundras of Minnesota), I'm here in the district now. It's pretty glamorous here, which is why I'm sticking around. It'll be three years this fall! I enjoy cats, bad television, reading, and becoming very knowledgeable about obscure topics.

I joined the gym! I am going to be so fit. Bangin', really. But if you go to WSC, then hit me up, as I need someone to keep me on track.

This section needs work. Stay tuned for updates.
What I’m doing with my life
Well, I got an MA in international affairs with a focus on Europe and nationalism. So now, obviously, I work for the government doing HR work. It's not really related to my degree, but it's fun and it pays well. Plus it's not like there's a huge need for people out there who know a lot about identity construction in the former Yugoslavia.

Outside of my day job, I'm just trying to have fun and learn more everyday.
I’m really good at
I have really nice handwriting. I also think I have a strong walk.

I'm surprisingly handy, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I'm relatively tall, but not in a freakish way, so people tend to notice that. However, should I be seated (and I do enjoy sitting), they probably won't. In that case, it's my eyes. They're really quite pretty. So pretty I have to hide them behind glasses, so that people are not distracted by them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is a key section, so I certainly don't want to screw it up.

Books: Everything is Illuminated, Never Let Me Go, Madame Bovary, Cloud Atlas. Lots of other books that I cannot remember at this moment.

Movies: Sound of Music, About a Boy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mean Girls.

TV Shows: This is the part where my profile might become a little embarrassing. I don't have a whole lot of time to keep up with TV these days, but I do enjoy myself a few guilty pleasures (i.e. Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family and, of course, Dance Moms). I also have a nostalgic attachment to the Today Show. I never miss 30 Rock, and I love Downton Abbey. (Am I the only person who doesn't just wildly hate Thomas? In a weird way I feel bad for him).

I am open to suggestions though, so if you have a favorite book, movie, tv show, band, or food, please alert me. I'll check it out. Unless the food involves mushrooms, which I refuse to eat.
The six things I could never do without
1. My iPhone.
2. Gawker (I know it went downhill after Brian Moylan left, but Caity Weaver is pretty damn hilarious). Buzzfeed is a good substitute some days.
3. Some sort of lip balm.
4. Wikipedia (So what if it's not "scholarly!" There's a lot to be learned on there!)
5. Grammatically correct text messages.
6. This list. (So that I don't forget things #1-5).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The subtext to a lot of pop culture. Like the undercurrents of racism on America's Next Top Model.

Also, worrying if people are staring at me, and whether or not strangers are noticing that I might be staring at them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Well, I'd like to say out having a drink or doing something fun. But, if we're being honest, I am usually all worn out by the work week, so I am probably watching House Hunters International and trying to stay awake.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I own the seminal 80's classic Troop Beverly Hills on DVD. Annie Herman....BOYOYOYOING!
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 25–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
Well, obviously I recommend that you message me if you think I'm at all cute or charming. Because that's pretty much going to be my M.O. on this site. So it's only fair that you do the same.

Also, if you want to chat or grab a drink. I enjoy doing both of those things.
