I am random, liberal, and addictive.

My Self-Summary

I'm chasing something. But I've heard it's really fun to come along for the ride.

I used to think I had a pretty dark personality. I've decided that's actually false because I laugh all the time and mean it. I'm happier the busier I get, and I love to be in the process of DOING something. I like learning about or engaging in activities that are novel to me. I'm never the drama queen (despite working in theater) though I could never say my life has been boring. I value spontaneity every day, I surround myself with fascinating people, can throw a killer party, wish I could cook, and am (if it's possible) excessively open-minded.

I love to love. I had my best and worst compliment when last summer a close friend called me directly after watching Vicky Cristina Barcelona to tell me he felt like he was watching scarlett johanssen play me on screen.

What I’m doing with my life

I just spent 7 months on a tiny island to figure this out. Came no closer to having an answer to the question, but i'm more excited than ever in my cluelessness.

The first things people usually notice about me

if i'm smiling thats usually it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Demian, Herman Hesse
House of Leaves, Mark Z Danilewski
Dangerous Angels, Francesca Lia Block
The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera
Deer Park, Norman Mailer

I'm moderately obsessed with David Lynch, and Jim Jarmusch. Not to say all their films are necessarily my favorites, but the process each director follows and the way they see their art is fascinating to me.
Choosing favorite music is impossible for me. I'm eclectic. And a lot of people say that, but i really do mean it. Though I am a prototypical liberal arts college student in the sense that I don't listen to mainstream music as much anymore.

I have CocoRosie stuck in my head at this moment... i have this terrible habit sometimes of getting fixated on one song. To the point where it becomes almost like a lens and filters everything I encounter in a day.

The six things I could never do without

travel, meat (though i've tried), laughter, making things, new art, my liver

On a typical Friday night I am

At work from 9:30 pm till 5 or 6 am at my home... er... bar, Kialoa.

EDIT::: missing Kialoa where I worked 9:30pm till 5 or 6 am.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

It bothers me when people clap on an airplane after it lands. Ditto on films.

You should message me if

if you can teach me about black holes, ceramic glazes, obscure parts of the world, immanuel kant, the difference between cyclones and tornados, wines, international futbol leagues, yoga, desert ecology, infamous serial killers, your religion or your mind.... we'll probably get along fine.
