I am alarming, conducive, and sacramental.

My Self-Summary

I read. A lot. I dig Muppets and wish I was one. My brother is my best friend. I make up songs in the shower. I drive stick. I'm a feminist. I'm a beer and wine drinker. I want to be a puppeteer. I have a cat named Piggy and a dog named Bear. I like to name my animals after other animals. I have a thing for picnics. I like being challenged. I'm into the past--mine and everybody else's. I'm legitimately terrified of robots. I need the ocean. I like adventures. I like musicians. I like being caught off-guard.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a student at UCSC, studying Theatre and Feminist Studies. I plan on getting my PhD someday, but I ain't in no rush.

In the meantime, I theorize and perform, I make art, I play with puppets, I connect, I commune.

I’m really good at

trying new things. Laughing. Telling the truth.

I've recently learned I'm funny--I perform in an all-girl sketch comedy troupe called SheBam. I get to write and perform whatever roles I want, which means I've gotten to be a unicorn, Sister Wendy from PBS, Heidi Klum, and a sexy ear of corn.

The first things people usually notice about me

Honestly? I'm probably laughing. So they notice that I think something is funny, I suppose.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read: Everything is Illuminated, The Intuitionist, Sam Shepard Plays, The Rotter's Club, The Violet Hour, Hey Nostradamus, When We Were Very Young, Anne of Green Gables, The Assistant, To Kill a Mockingbird, Goodbye Chunky Rice, Able's Island, The Diary of Adam and Eve, Y: The Descent of Maleness, The Chairs, Flight, Pride and Prejudice.

I watch: Punch Drunk Love, The Royal Tennebaums, Gross Pointe Blank, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, F.L.O.W., The Muppet Movie, Flight of the Navigator, Duck Soup.

I hear: Nick Drake, The Mountain Goats, Goldfrapp, Tom Waits, Sam Cooke, Dolly Parton, Old Crow Medicine Show, Hem, Talking Heads, The Magnetic Fields, Tilly and the Wall, Kaki King, George Harrison, Anoushka Shankar, Taj Mahal, Stereo Total.

I eat: Seared Ahi, sandwiches, tomatoes, Seaweed Salad, Vegetable Korma, avocados, cereal, things I haven't tried before.

The six things I could never do without

music, coffee, the ocean, my family, The Muppets, mercy

I spend a lot of time thinking about

gender, performance, embodiment, things that I wish were real (like foot-high elephants and other things I think I see out of the corner of my eye)

On a typical Friday night I am

Dancing, laughing, running around, onstage making other people laugh, or trying something wonderful and new.

I have also been known to stay in with good friends, a bottle of wine, and some art supplies.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is that I have parallel birthmarks running down the length of my body.

You should message me if

You think the Marx Bros. are funny, you think I'd dig some of your favorite music, or you just want to get a beer sometime.
