My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Been in Atlanta for a year now (minus a couple of months away in Ethiopia, Tanzania and Peru) and loving the warm weather, festivals, and general laid-back-ness compared to my native Boston.

I am open to trying almost anything, a hopeless romantic, love planning adventures both local and abroad (next up are Japan, Ethiopia and Hawaii), dancing, hiking, telling stories (always true, though may be slightly exaggerated), reading the NYT and New Yorker, cycling (on my road bike!), analyzing social interactions, and watching movies. I don't mind going to the movies by myself. Otherwise, I am pretty social and love being with people.

I go through phases where I'm preoccupied with different things. Currently, it is being minimalistic and day-dreaming about living in a van. Previous phases include a flash mob phase (this was quenched by participating in one last year - it takes a lot of practice, who knew!?); multiple travel-bug/escapist phases (including a year back-packing and another year living in Hawaii); pseudo-poetry writing phases; meditation phases, etc. These don't last (so don't worry, I won't shred your birth certificate and demand that you meditate with me in my van-house). But I will probably send you NYT articles and invite you to ride a bike and/or watch an obscure movie.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Medicine. Which I love, except sometimes. I'm also interested in global health and work abroad at times throughout the year.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making lists (doing things on the list is another story), packing lightly for international trips, teaching and telling stories. My dancing skills are ..... well you'll just have to see for yourself ;)
The first things people usually notice about me

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I don't think we need to like the same books, music, etc, as long as you are open-minded and willing to teach/share with me. But here goes:

Books: Omnivore's Dilemma, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The English Patient, The Road, Siddhartha, Behind the Beautiful Forevers, Steve Jobs Biography.

Movies: Nostalgia for the Light, Man on Wire, The Lives of Others, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Searching for Sugar Man, Inside Job, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, The Kids Are All Right; any movie >90% on the tomato-meter, but I also have a soft spot for the Twlight series :) Love independent and foreign films.

Music: interesting lyrics or a good beat.... lately it is Bonobo, Kishi Bashi, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird, Neko Case, Emancipator, the XX. Old favorites are Neil Young, Gillian Welch, Indigo Girls, Mana, Patty Griffin, Simon and Garfunkel

TV: Jon Stewart, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Friday Night Lights, Modern Family. I don't watch TV regularly, but I can get totally sucked into watching an entire season in a weekend.

Food: anything ethnic, moderately spicy and veggie-friendly, especially: South Indian, Thai, Vietnamese
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, friends, freedom, laughter, passport, the internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be true; and more empathetic; moderation; history/politics
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My ideal Friday night would be to have wine and dinner w/ a small group of friends, preferably outside on a rooftop with nice lighting, good music, story-telling.
I'm also content chilling out, watching a movie, or can usually be convinced to go dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not that private. Just ask.

The thing that I am somewhat embarrassed to admit is that I cannot cook to save my life (or yours, for that matter). But I have begun learning!
