My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty independent and I suppose fairly idiosyncratic. I'm fairly laid back, but when I see it's time, I'm ready to take charge. I am happy with simple things, but don't mind indulging the impulsive.

I think I have a pretty good sense of humor, or at least manage to be quick with something clever every now and then.

I do tend to work a lot, but wouldn't mind finding a reason to come home early more often.

I am smart, funny, and modest
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do work fairly long hours. I have career that keeps me pretty busy, but its not overwhelming.

During the summer I also work part time for a baseball team, which keeps me busy nights and weekends, about half the summer.

I'm also working on getting better at competitive target rifle shooting. I usually shoot a couple matches a month from spring through fall. This summer I'm hoping to shoot at the national matches. (Which isn't quite as big-time as it sounds.)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
If a fairly decent cook, and whatever your favorite drink is, I can make one as good as you can get anywhere else.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite book is probably Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," though its a long time since I've read it. I also really liked "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." The last book I read was "Eating the Dinosaur" by Chuck Klosterman. It was the first book I've read that critically examined the culture of the 1990s (and explained that the only good argument for time travel was so you could eat a dinosaur.)

I'm not really a movie guy. I will watch movies once they come on HBO or Showtime. But I think that the original programing those channels, along with FX and AMC are putting out are a lot closer to literature than most of the movies being made right now. The last movie I've watched multiple times was "Almost Famous."

Since they started putting out podcasts I've hardly listened to much music. Though I wasn't ever much for a lot of music. When I do listen to music, I like Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Lisa Loeb and a random collection of other things.

Almost every year I spend a week in Arizona for spring training. I usually come home addicted to Mexican food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order: my Blackberry; baseball; HDTV and the DVR; shooting small groups; rolling down the windows and opening the sunroof; limes.
