My self-summary
If it's not asking too much...

I'm a Sound Engineer and Designer, finished a Bachelor in theatre production a bit over a year ago and just finished an Ad. Dip. at RMIT in sound production. I also work in an independent CD and DVD store in the city, trying to live out as much of a High Fidelity fantasy as I can. Also working at a club out in Werribee, mixing bands and fiddling with lights.

As a young'n, I spent a great deal of time getting to know music very intimately, as most do, but I feel a very strong connection with rough, hard, dissonant and loud music the most. Don't get me wrong, nothing swoons me like a finely crafted melody, but your passion hits you right in the chest and you know what it is that you love, and I love very loud noise, of pretty much any kind.

These days, I'm passionate about bettering myself. I spent a long time in a bit of a haze in regards to life, I'd like to think that each day you have the opportunity to learn something new about yourself, that there is an underlying challenge in each day, and that if you decipher it right, then the next day might be a bit easier. So I'm experimenting with new things, in the hope of unlocking a secret set of keys to a happy life. I've only got a few keys on the ring so far, but they've unlocked some pretty old and rusty doors. (I think i've taken this analogy too far.)

Other things I do include:
-Mixing and producing a range of music and sounds from hip-hop and singer-songwriter to spoken word and metal.
-actually making music myself (mostly electronic)
-working on a variety of different creative endeavours with visual artists, other musicians and theatre makers.
-Vapeing, because smoking these days is not actually something you need to do anymore to get a nicotine hit.

I also have a Tumblr, it is full of pretty B&W things.
I’m really good at
twisting my tongue. Figuratively, not literally. Ok, maybe a little literally.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Grew up on alot of groovy (as in the style, not the term) classic Rock & Roll (Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath), early/mid 80's punk/hardcore (the more intelligent stuff, ie Black Flag, Minutemen, Dead Kennedys, Husker Du, Fugazi) and late 90's experimental electronica (Kid606, Cex, Boards Of Canada, Telefon Tel Aviv, Mouse On Mars, Oval). I like theatre. When it's done well. Too often theatre seems intensely elaborate, overworked and undercooked. I have worked on a bunch of different shows over the last 10 years, and my favourite productions include Boris Vian's The Empire Builders, Bruce Robinson's Withnail & I (I played Danny), Raimondo Cortese's St Kilda Tales, Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party, David Finnigan's 22 Short Plays, and Alan Bennett's Kafka's Dick. Lately I have been working with newer independent companies in Melbourne like MKA and Bone Marrow.

Well, look. I'm not going to list a bunch of videos because anyone who has seen a bunch of movies and TV knows what's awesome and isn't. Recently though, I've finished up the first season of Orphan Black, going week to week with currently airing shows like Archer, Girls, Rick & Morty, Shameless (US) Parks & Rec and Community, and also wasting time with old episodes of Seinfeld and The Simpsons.

Currently reading: How Music Works (David Byrne), Electronic Arts In Australia, Christopher Hitchens' Letters To A Young Contrarian and Our Band Could Be Your Life. Frequently read blogs like Disquiet, Mess + Noise, AV Club & Lifehacker.
The six things I could never do without
tunes, stories, access to good food, pleasant company and my record player.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to relax when I'm not working.
On a typical Friday night I am
doing a myriad of things, whatever happens to keep me busy that particular week, be it theatre, music, eating out with friends or busying myself back at the homestead.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–36
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you're looking for someone to discuss basically anything with. I'm pretty bored with the minutiae of small talk on the site, so please talk to me about SOMETHING! ANYTHING! Be interesting!

Also, if you find anything wrong with my profile, please let me know, I'm keen for some creative criticism.
