My self-summary
My name is Ronald, a LA transplant, weekend warrior, competitive netflix watcher, and taco connoisseur. My friends describe me as affable and generous.

There are several things that I'm passionate about and one of them is soccer. I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of watching sports on tv so you wont catch me sitting on my couch watching games. What I love about soccer is the supporters culture that has allowed me to travel and meet people that I wouldn't have had the chance if they weren't avid fans of the game. Last year I traveled to Mexico City to watch the US play against Mexico and met amazing fans (both US and Mexico) while I was there.
What I’m doing with my life
I currently work at a community college as a Research Analyst and love my job since it is exactly what I want to do. I know at the end of the day I'm helping people better their lives. I grew up in a poor and dangerous neighborhood and I honestly believe that education is a way out of poverty.

Outside of work I spend a lot of time practicing my soccer skills; I always carry my cleats and soccer ball in my car for those unexpected pickup games. You never know when 21 guys will randomly show up to play a game of soccer. When I'm not channeling my inner-Christiano Ronaldo, I'm playing in my adult kickball league or doing some sort of outdoor activity (no, that does not mean drinking beer on a patio).

My new year's resolution was to learn how to dance salsa. To challenge myself and light a fire under my butt, I signed up for my dance studio's in December. From now till December I practice my routine as much as possible.
I’m really good at
Making guacamole and sangria.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's my cheerful personality. One of my closest friends has said that she always looks forward to seeing me because it doesn't matter how bad of a day I or she has had, I always have a big smile on my face that can brighten up someone's day.

Or if you're behind me, you'll definitely notice my big posterior.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Shows: Doctor Who, Supernatural, The IT Crowd, How I Met Your Mother, and Modern Family.

Books: My two favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray and Gulliver's Travels. My favorite contemporary writer is Neil Gaiman but lately I found myself reading Malcolm Gladwell's work.

Music: Huge Hall & Oates fan. Right now I'm listening to the new Arctic Monkeys (or anything by Alex Turner) and Franz Ferdinand albums nonstop. They're ridiculous good. Listen to them, you won't be disappointed. Queens of the Stone Age, The Clash, The Mars Volta, Gorillaz, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Killswitch Engage, The Killers, Spoon, Willie Colón, Hector Lavoe, and Rock en Español.
The six things I could never do without
Right now there's only one thing I can never live without:
Slow Cooker

That device is freaking amazing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Do I really want to start a Hall & Oates cover band? And who's going to be the Oates to my Hall?
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday night is the best time to hit the gym. If I'm not at the gym then I'm in Berkeley playing Magic the Gathering...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In elementary school I always volunteered to be line leader because it gave me a sense of authority and power. Unfortunately I always cracked under the pressure and led the class to the wrong room...

I also shampoo and condition my beard.

You think McDonald's Monopoly is the best time of the year.
Period. No. Discussion.

The idea of playing David Bowie's "Let's Dance" on full blast and dancing in the living room sounds fun to you.

Or you want to attend the U.S. Air Guitar Championship Semifinals.
