My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm active and fit. Based on appearance, demeanor and attitude most people guess my age at 44ish and www.realage.com agrees, but my evil drivers license claims I'm 58. I sure don't look, feel or act it and when I'm biking, hiking or snowshoeing with a group, I'm usually out ahead of the 30-somethings.

With dark brown shortish hair and bright blue eyes, I'm 5'11" and 164 lbs. I prefer active outdoor recreation over going the gym for exercise. I enjoy traveling, hiking, backpacking, biking, kayaking, rafting, skiing, snorkeling (want to learn scuba, snowshoeing, reading, movies, dancing (need more lessons), occasional golf, live music, and viewing performing arts and visual arts. Wish I had time to do it all.

I'm eclectically mostly liberal, religiously indeterminate, and have widely varying adventuresome tastes. I love life, rain and snow, clouds, storms and wind, trees and rivers, driving and traveling, microbrews, and most music. Places I most want to go are many, including Peru, New Zealand, Greece, and Belize (again).

Some more adjectives: imaginative, inventive, logical, emotional, empathetic, dependable, competent, ethical, honest, and sensual and love to please (OK, so the last was a phrase, I should find an adjective for it).

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Always trying to leave things better than I find them. Enjoying living in downtown Portland after 20+ years beyond the suburbs. I'm enjoying the great outdoors when I can, which is pretty often. I just rejoined the volunteer Mount Hood Ski Patrol, which I did for 14 years in the past. Enjoying time with my 20-something children, just slightly envious their brains and zest.

I have 6 years of college and am a licensed architect who has migrated into IT. My staff and coworkers say I'm smart, funny, and the best boss ever. I just try to live up to their expectations. I love my job and we have fun at work.

Analyzing and solving problems and improving things. I can figure out how to do, build, or fix most things.

I don't know, I should ask people, but I've been told I have a low sexy voice, nice blue eyes, and a calm confident demeanor, and that most find me attractive or handsome.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books - Types: Hard SciFi, Historical Fiction, Suspense, etc Authors: Creighton, McCarthy, John Sanford, Reichs, Elmore Loenard, Twain, Steinbeck, or anyone who does their research and offers depth in their drama. I also enjoy lighter fiction including Janet Evanovich.

Movies: Almost anything GOOD. Stephen King is NEVER good. Creighton's books are great, but his movies usually aren't. I like everything from off-the-wall, witty, dark humor, to action, to drama, to romantic comedy.

Music: love Jazz, Blues, classic rock, classical, actually most everything (except sleepy opera, annoying rap & disco, or sappy country – but I do enjoy rockabilly and Willie)

Food: Anything with FLAVOR, tend towards ethnic foods and eclectic menus.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Being active: biking, hiking, skiing, etc...

Sitting back enjoying the outdoors and nature,

Enjoying all the interesting and educational events Portland has to offer,

Hanging out and chatting with friends and my kids,

Being productive and feeling I am contributing and am appreciated for what I do,

The partner I've found, with whom I hope to forever enjoy life, love, wonderful sex, and all of this.
