I'm a wannabe intellectual who thinks himself hilarious. I like cats, anarchist literature, people with ridiculous tattoos, trying to pass myself off as 'interesting' on dating websites, and a few other things I suppose. The most important things to me are communism and rapping, which looks pretty weird now I've typed it out. All the same, here's a music video I made where I rap all about books:

Surviving, mostly. Making a dick of myself in public. Attempting to finish recording an album. Working too damn much; I have taken on a union steward position at my job so am learning the ropes with that atm (tryna build up the revolution n stuff obvs), and have also started studying part time with the open uni. Suddenly busy for the first time in my life. When I do go out I tend to just dance like a twat all night. I'm pretty good at that actually.

The beard. Or the fact I'm probably half asleep.

Books - I read a lot of early 20th century anarchist literature, or similar things. For the simple reason that I'm an incredibly dull bastard when I wanna be. Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Karl Marx being particular favourites. But I don't nearly take myself seriously enough as those choices might imply...

Movies - Dead Man's Shoes, Godfather, Goodbye Lenin, Leon, No Country For Old Men, Pan's Labyrinth, The Thing (original), They Live, Oldboy, City of God. Zombie films, kung-fu films, David Lynch films, Will Ferrell films, Bill Murray films.

TV - The Wire, Breaking Bad, Peep Show, Brasseye, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Conchords, Game of Thrones, I'm Alan Partridge, The Office, Walking Dead, new Battlestar Galactica (shhh), Boondocks, The Killing (danish), Garth Merenghi's Darkplace, Dexter.

Music - My main love is 90s NY hip-hop: Wu-Tang, Rakim, Nas, Biggie, Organized Konfusion, A Tribe Called Quest, Lauryn Hill etc. As well as a lot more recent US hip-hop artists like J Dilla, Sean Price, Roc Marciano. Also got a lot of love for UK hip-hop such as Jehst, Skinnyman, Task Force, Roots Manuva, Jam Baxter. I like a lot of soul/funk/jazz, like Miles Davis, James Brown, OV Wright, Baby Huey, Lee Fields, Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley. I grew up listening to a lot of hardcore punk though so always end up on a big nostalgia trip listening to stuff like American Nightmare, Refused, Converge, Saetia, Propagandhi. And then there's all the stuff inbetween, Godspeed You Black Emperor, A Silver Mt Zion, City & Colour, Iron & Wine, Regina Spektor, Owen, Four Tet, Portishead. Basically I try to listen to everything but actually hate when people say 'i listen to everything'.
