"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking up at the stars" - Oscar Wilde

If you dig this profile message & favorite me, despite your gender or your relationship status (or mine), I'm always looking for new friends & interesting people to talk to!

I am a perpetual learner, a student, a scholar, a seeker of knowledge and Enlightenment - and have been most of my life... I', a Freelance Writer and Gonzo Journalist.

Most recently, the role of father has been added, much to my shock, amazement, and joy. It is both easier and more difficult than I could have ever expected, & certainly more rewarding than ever dreamed....

I'm a poet, a hopeless romantic, an idealist. I'm an Empath, a pacifist, a liberal. I am the "long-haired, beatnik pinko" your grandparents were worried about.

I dream of, and try for, a Utopian society. As Gandhi said: "You must BE the change you wish to see in this world", as well as "An 'eye for an eye' and soon the WHOLE WORLD is Blind!" I am trying to be part of the solution and not the problem - to this giant 'suicide-train' that Humanity is on.

I spend my free time reading, writing (mostly poetry), painting, listening to music, fiddling around online, sleeping, observing beauty, seeking enlightenment, and killing time in creative ways. I also enjoy (but don't get to do enough of) basking in the moonlight, taking walks in nature, gazing at the stars, road trips, and sitting on the beach at night listening to the waves crash on the shore.

I am very spiritual person, but against organized religion and "blind faith" . I believe that there are many paths that lead to "Liberation" but that one must find the one that works best for themselves. There is no one correct way, no one correct Path. I am an Individualist and a Humanitarian, I am a Peacemaker, Pacifist, Conscientious Objector, and Left-Wing revolutionary. I believe in living at peace and harmony with each other and our environment. To avoid causing pain or hardship, to man or nature, is the only universal law. Once we see that we are the same as everything else, and feel the suffering of our fellow man, only then shall we be Awakened to the True Nature of Reality.

I am non-linear, articulate, and romantic.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." -Hunter S. Thompson

"Instead of all of this energy and effort directed at the war to end drugs, how about a little attention to drugs which will end war?" -Albert Hofmann

Freelance Writing and Gonzo Journalism, and the whole "Starving Artist" deal. All is Sacrificed when "The Muse" calls! I also struggle with the whole 'day job' thing (until I can continue on towards, and reach my goal in medicine, or well-paid author).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
"Guerrilla Ontology", "Free-Love", Peace, Semantics and other "Word-Play", Perception, Metaphysics, Improbability, Listening, Being Loyal, Intelligent Coversation, as well as being Empathic and Compassionate to a fault. I tend to be very nurturing and paternal, as well.

My "Presence"...

"Hold together Jack, pass, pass through everything, and everything is one dream, one appearance, one flash, one sad eye, one crystal lucid mystery, one the infinite fertilities of the one mind of infinity, make no comments, complaints, criticisms, apraisals, avowels, sayings, just flow, flow, be you all, be you what it is, it is only what it always is---Hope is a word like a snowdrift---This is the great knowing, this is awakening, this is voidness--- So shut up, live, travel, adventure, bless and don't be sorry...And you have been forever, and will be forever, and all the worrisome smashings of your foot on innocent cupboard doors, it was only the void pretending to be a man, pretending not to know the void." - J. Kerouac from 'Desolation Angels'

"And still the void is still and'll never move--- But I will be the void, moving without having moved." - J. Kerouac from 'Desolation Angels'

"It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. " - 'Mentat's Mantra' from Dune, film by David Lynch

"We can never know what to want, because, living only one life, we can neither compare it with our previous lives nor perfect it in our lives to come" - Milan Kundera in 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being'

Tom Robbins' 'Still Life With Woodpecker' "is sort of love story that takes place inside a pack of Camel cigarettes. It reveals the purpose of the Moon, explains the differences between criminals and outlaws, examines the conflict between social activism and romantic individualism, and paints a portrait of contemperary society that includes powerful Arabs, exiled royalty, and pregnant cheerleaders. It also deals with the problem of redheads."

"In the last quarter of the twentieth century, at a time when Western civilization was declining too rapidly for comfort and yet too slowly to be very exciting, much of the world sat on the edge of an increasingly expensive theater seat, waiting-with various combinations of dread, hope and ennui-for something momentous to occur." -Tom Robbins, 'Still Life With Woodpecker'

Sometimes it just feels like I AM the 'Infinite Improbability Drive'....

That, and these two sets of lyrics seems to be the theme of my past:

"She took all my money
And my best friend
You know the story
Here it comes again
I have no pride
I have no shame
You gotta make it rain
Make it rain!

Since you're gone
Deep inside it hurts
I'm just another sad guest
On this dark earth

I want to believe
In the mercy of the world again
Make it rain, make it rain!

The nite's too quiet
Stretched out alone
I need the whip of thunder
And the wind's dark moan

I'm not Able, I'm just Cain
Open up the heavens
Make it rain!

I'm close to heaven
Crushed at the gate
They sharpen their knives
On my mistakes

What she done, you can't give it a name
You gotta make it rain
Make it rain, yeah!

Without her love
Withour your kiss
Hell can't burn me
More than this
I'm burning up all this pain
Put out the fire
Make it rain!

I'm born to trouble
I'm born to fate
Inside a promise
I can't escape
It's the same old world
But nothing looks the same
Make it rain! [2x]

Got to make it rain
Make it rain
You got to make it rain
Got to make it rain
You got to...

I stand alone here! [2x]
Sing it...
Make it rain! [2x]."
- Make it Rain,
by Tom Waits

"I got a preacher on my back,
Tellin' me just how to act,
Well, I'll never do you wrong.

I've got Diamonds in my tears,
I've got a long, long list of fears,
Well, I'll never do you wrong.

Why doesn't anybody call?
I've got no company at all.
With all my stupid stuff,
And I'm just another bum,
Nobody needs a friend like me" - Palooka Blues, Deep Bannana Blackout

but hey.... "You just gotta keep on Livin' man... L-I-V-I-N..." Wooderson from Dazed and Confused "Take it easy, there's a beverage, man..." and "F-+@! it Dude, let's go Bowling - The Dude and Walter in Big Lebowski
