I'm new to Brooklyn, I moved here for graduate school. I enjoy bicycles, vegan food, movies, radical action, rock climbing, and managing to be highly social and incredibly awkward all at once. i have a profound connection to my bicycle.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm in graduate school in Cultural Studies. I'm doing interdisciplinary research in sociology and film on fantasies of urban violence. The primary focus is the interconnections between and differences within the disproportionate punishment of marginalized populations and how we represent and normalize the structures of violence in American popular film.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how i excited i get every time i ride the q train headed towards manhattan and i see the adapted zoetrope on the east side of the tunnel.
consequently this leads to thinking about how persistence of vision is really neat.
i also worry about how the army national guard training in the flatbush lirr station makes me ever so aware of the role of exceptions in constitutional democracies.
which turns into that i really like dancing.
and that i get really grumpy when i don't eat and it's completely absurd. and then eventually i end up being self-reflexive to a fault.
and that i'm a bundle of paradoxes.
also that i really enjoy writing sentence fragments.

On a typical Friday night I am

reading or writing. when i lived in rochester every monday (which was my friday) I used to dance at a eighties night at a local bar.
