My self-summary
Okay so I moved to Austin at the beginning of November. So yeah, don't know many people here (pretty much everyone in Austin that I know is from high school sooo I haven't talked to them in 5+ years).

I'm colorblind in respect to blue/purple and red/brown/green. Crayon boxes are a pain. So was Geology.

I have a pug named Darcy and she's not the smartest dog (she is a pug after all) but she is as sweet as can be once she gets used to you.

I prefer to build my own computer rather than purchase a premade one. I mean what's more fun than spending hours on putting something together and then going "WHY WON'T IT WORK".

I started playing Dungeons and Dragons not too long ago. I enjoy it but more for the board gameness than the role playing. My group is in Houston so now I'm Dndless; I suppose I'll survive.

My three favorite phrases when intoxicated -
"I love you" I will say this to anyone.
"I hate you" I only say this to friends! Feel privileged!
"I want to punch that guy in the face" Don't worry, that's not likely to happen. I'm a lover not a fighter.
What I’m doing with my life
I got my degree in History from UH last spring. My gpa wasn't even high enough to teach in Texas. IN. TEXAS. So I do what every other slacking liberal arts major does and works at a job that they could have done with no degree.

Oh and I'm trying to rebuild my friend network at the moment. People get married and move or get jobs in other cities - it's the craziest thing!
I’m really good at
Sarcasm! It's an art in my family.

I have an amazing ability to be slightly above mediocre on just about anything I give a try at. Being good at something seems to be just out of reach.
The first things people usually notice about me
My nose is crooked but not nearly as deformed as pictures indicate. It is a bit on the large size though. My poor nose has been broken and never fully recovered.

Quotes about my nose!

A teenaged me - Mom, is my nose big?
Mom - No honey, it's strong. You have a strong nose.
Yeah my nose can bench 160. What of it.

Guy to a waitress at a bar
Guy - We make fun of Patrick for being Jewish.
Waitress - Oh, I could tell by the nose.
The levels of wtf in that conversation were astounding.

Apparently people are surprised when I'm not a complete douche bag. Which is surprising because I'm one of the nicest people I know. And modest.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books -
Mostly non fiction stuff but I let a few fiction titles weasel their way in. Usually takes me a long time to get through a book though.

Movies-
I'm mostly not a fan of good movies. I like to laugh at movies; whether it's genuinely funny or because it's really bad.

I just realized how weird the above statement looks. I like everything everyone else seems to like as well. LOTR, Star Wars, Superhero movies etc. Favorites I suppose are Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Oh and I have a soft spot for Disney and probably enjoy Rom Coms more than I should. But if you tell ANYONE that...well most people already know.

Music -
Apparently it's the year 2000 and I'm listening to a lot of trance again. It satiates the electronic cravings I have but without the obsessiveness of the "drop".
Oh and lots of Fang Island.
Here's all the music stuff you need to know about me since October '10 - http://www.last.fm/user/ptmccaff
Add me as a friend dammit!
Honestly music is my t.v., my books and my movies. I can watch music videos off youtube till the wee hours of the morning or just sit and listen. I don't see nearly enough live shows though.

I don't really watch many shows on a regular basis but I like South Park, American Dad, Family Guy, Adventure Time, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I own Daria and a few episodes of MST3k on DVD. Watching T.V. is more of a social activity to me (odd I know). I feel like I'm wasting time if I just sit by myself and watch it.

Food
No seafood. Except canned tuna or occasionally salmon. Other than that I'll give it a whirl.

Favorites though - Mexican food. For some reason ice cream sandwiches are of a sudden importance to me. No clue why.

I'm a pain in the ass when deciding what to eat because I'll ask you to decide where to go and then shoot down your first five suggestions because I actually have some place in mind but I don't want to suggest it in the fear you'll say no. IT MAKES SENSE.

Video Games (It's should be a category dammit)
WoW, D3, TF2. I mostly play comp games but I'm down to play on whatever console people have; I'm generally just not very good on them though.
The six things I could never do without
1) Music
2) Computer
3) Soda
4) Mexican food
5) Laughter / comedy / funny stuff
6) My 1999 Jeep Cherokee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything.

I dwell on the past a bit too much and have way too much internal dialogue.

How I managed to meet the requirements for my degree (History) without checking out a single book in the library. Fuck you Dewey Decimal System.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends. Playing pool, poker, watching a movie, at a bar, seeing a band, whatever.

By the end of the night I'll probably be reading something. Either a book or bottle cap.

Or there's the favorite of just staying in and playing games on the computer. I've never even met some of the people I talk to the most. Don't judge; you're on a dating website.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was kicked out of the chess club in 5th grade. Yeah, I'm a rebel.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–32
  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You've had a bad day. Or a good day.

You're sick of creeps. Seriously. How many of you ladies' profiles says something about 'no creeps'. I don't like creeps. No one likes creeps; not even creeps.

You are awesome at conversations. I can be talkative but only with some prompts. When I have to ask all the questions it makes me feel like an interrogator. Seriously, I will start being random as hell.
