My self-summary
If I had to be defined wholly by my occupation, I guess I'd be ok with that. I'm lucky, in that sense. I'm a teacher, of many things, to many people. I've taught 6 year olds and 60 year olds, and many ages in between. I've changed lives in small and big ways. I'm always trying to find ways to make the places and people around me better.

I freelance as a web developer and have started my own non profit. In the last two semesters (roughly 8 months), we fed about 600 starving college students, with the capacity to feed 600 more. I'm also on the ground floor of a couple of different tech start ups, which could, in the next 10 years, be real game changers.

I've also been doing martial arts for the last 11 years. I teach it, along with some free self defense seminars on various campuses. It's a way for me to encourage and inspire others to be healthy and to have discipline and fun.
What I’m doing with my life
I want to always teach. I think the next step in my journey is doctoral study, likely in applied linguistics. But that's in the next 5 years. As for now, I just jumped on board with a ground breaking adult education program at one of my colleges. That's going to be my center of the universe for the next 15 weeks.
I’m really good at
empathy. I'm also a poet concerned with other people, so that's where I get my people reading skills from. People also say I'm incredibly patient.
The first things people usually notice about me
eyes, smile, eloquence, arms (biceps)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm reading everything right now (thanks, Kindle). I used to / still read quite a bit of fiction for fun, though I'm delving more into non fiction (Weisel, Chomsky). And, of course, I read a lot of poetry.

Give me some kimchi or some chorizo and I'm your best friend.
The six things I could never do without
1. somewhere to write
2. my kitten (really, he's a cat by now)

... ... that's about it, really. I could do without everything else.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
who I eventually want to be. what it takes to get me from where I am to that over there.
On a typical Friday night I am
having drinks at a quiet bar with a friend
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
sometimes, sometimes ... sometimes I listen to Taylor Swift.
