My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm a mutt, both in my interests and in my upbringing. I've lived in 6 different countries throughout my life, speak 4 languages (3 fluently). Venezuelan by Birth, Chilean by my father. I have both nationalities.

I guess you could say I'm a card-carrying geek: I love Games of all types, particulary RPG's, Computer Games and Video Games. I wish I were better at chess. I also enjoy Computers, anime, comic books, cheesy zombie flicks, Science Fiction and Fantasy. I tend to devour books, so much, in fact that I must pace myself so I can spread a book over two or three weeks. High silliness is one of my greatest pleasures, and there's few things as fun as "Geeking the place up"

There is a non-geeky side to me. I also play bass, keyboards, and drums, at varying levels of ineptitude. I like animals, specially wolves (and by corollary, dogs), cats, fish, and many other rather interesting species which I won't bother to list. Yes, I probably do something related to animals. I try not to spend too much time indoors, however. I am very outdoorsy. When I can, I go SCUBA diving, or swim, or walk...specially the hills in my city, which have enough green to make them fun to climb. I've also gotten together with people, gone up the Andes, watched stars until I was tired, and retired to my tent until early morning.

I am not the type to go out to dance clubs, though I go every once in a while, just because. I much prefer going to a bar and have a couple of drinks with my friends, or even better, have people over at my place for an evening of general geekiness. I go to the movies regularly, alternating between the serious movies about life's problems and those where aliens blow things up.

I also like to cook. I tend to stick to "traditional" recipes. No avant-garde or fusion things. I have a special interest in asian cuisines, specially japanese.

I also practice Aikido, irregularly. I do intend to be more constant about it. Sometime soon.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm currently finishing my degree in biology at Universidad de Chile. At the same time, I work as an english teacher. In theory, at least...My school schedule is rather tight, so I have very little time for classes. Plus, my employer seems to be doing pretty badly now.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I seem to have a talent for computers, languages, and dealing with animals (except for horses). I am also pretty versatile, and am, in fact, self-taught in a lot of my interests.

The hair. That's usually followed by being asked whether I combed it that morning or not. Either that, or the fact that I'm usually reading, gleefully ignoring the world around me.

(a) The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy, by Douglas Adams; Magician, by Raymond Feist; The Illuminatus! Trilogy, by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea; Macbeth, by Shakespeare (not technically a book, yes).

(b) Star Wars Trilogy (the original, not that special edition crap); Labyrinth; Dogma; Dead Poets' Society; Lost in Translation.

(c) That's tough...I'm rather partial to acid jazz, some electronic stuff, and Weird Al Yankovic.

(d) Even tougher...A nice bowl of udon; arepas; a nice warm beef stew; lasagna.
