I am quiet, strange, and nerdy.
My Self-Summary
"I just can't help believing though believing sees me
cursed..."
Apparently, I'm a twisted sort of fellow. But you won't know it for
a while, as I tend to stay quietly in the corner. Which is
something I'm trying to work on. I build pirate ships and write
stories about talking typewriters and other such frippery.
I tend to not notice where I'm walking. But I've only walked into a
lamppost once.
What I’m doing with my life
Looking after computers and things at a school in Oxford. It can be
more fun than it sounds, especially when my imagination runs away
with me. Have a few dreams of writing that I'm pursuing, and I can
often be found making new sweet combinations in the kitchen at the
weekend!
I’m really good at
Going off at tangents, long passionate diatribes about pop groups,
and a curious fascination with American politics. And coming up
with false histories and guides for American friends about the
subtleties of British life. I leave out the more horrible bits
(black pudding is just...so wrong, and it turns out I never fully
realised the implications of Daddies Sauce until my friends pointed
it out whilst laughing hysterically).
The first things people usually notice about me
That I blush easily. Very easily.

The six things I could never do without
1. My friends. Incredibly corny, I know, but I wouldn't have lasted
through the last few years without their support and
friendship.
2. Music. I'm hopeless if I don't hear at least one song during the
day. (yes, quite silly)
3. Pencil and some paper. I don't write as much as I'd like, but I
do love sitting down and creating new worlds to play in.
4. Erm...struggling now. Pesto! Who knew that basil and pine nuts
would go together SO well?
5. My camera - it's a bit old and battered now, but it normally
comes with me on all my travels.
6. Showers! All my best writing thoughts happen in the shower. I
also seem to be under the impression that it improves my singing
voice. Deep down, I know This Is A Lie, but it doesn't stop me from
singing...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music (though I must point out that I can't play a note),
politics/the state of the world, writing, and what to read next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most likely watching a movie. Nothing exciting, I'm afraid. Though
I can often be found somewhere in London trying to find a concert
venue!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I still think Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now" is a good record!
You should message me if
...you'd like to? If you'd like hearing somebody who may rant on
about how New Order's "Temptation" is the greatest song in the
world ever made, and then might spend the next half-hour quiet
before launching into a lament on the passing of multi-storey
car-parks and other Brutalist wonders. Or if you'd like to know how
to make aero bars in your own kitchen...
