My Self-Summary
I am a divorced single mother of a teenage son. His drama keeps me
pretty busy, as do his sporting events. He's a great athlete and
sometimes I wonder what I will do when he is out of the house.
Although I am sure I will find something to occupy my time. I love
movies and hanging out with good friends. I am a hopeless romantic
and have been known to cry at sappy movies. My sense of humor is
sarcastic, so watch out! I enjoy laughing, dancing, music…I'm
really up for anything.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I am working, A LOT. I am a social worker and an
elementary counselor. I have a compulsion for helping people,
(specifically kids) but sometimes it can really become stressful. I
rely on my friends to keep me laughing, sometimes at myself! I have
thought about going back to school to pursue a Ph.D. and then I
remember the homework and come to my senses!
I’m really good at
I am really good at taking care of people, I guess that's why I'm a
social worker. I take care of my family, my friends and I guess in
the end, I try and take care of myself. I am good at making people
laugh…HARD. I am good at dancing and I LOVE IT.
The first things people usually notice about me
I think people notice my big blue eyes, my smile and willingness to
make them laugh; my sense of humor and just my love of laughing!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite books are mysteries..love Janet Evanovich. Movies: I
love drama, comedy, romance and action.. a little of everything I
guess. My favorites are: Friday, PS I love you,Dirty Dancing (RIP
Patrick Swayze), Grease, Wedding Crashers. I listen to R&B and
hip hop. I love good food and my favorites are: pizza, pasta or
Chinese.
The six things I could never do without
my son, my friends, God, family, music, laughter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
why bad things happen to so many good people, all the tragedy that
seems to befall my small community, how proud I am of my son, how
lucky I am to be surrounded by good friends and family, and how
beef jerky can look so yucky but be so delicious.
On a typical Friday night I am
maybe falling asleep early on the couch, possibly watching my son's
sporting event, maybe out with friends enjoying an adult beverage,
maybe at a movie - I guess it depends on my mood!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
my friend encouraged me to do this, (strongly). I am nervous but
willing. Oh and I brush my teeth in the shower lol
