My self-summary
I'm a food entrepreneur and can't see myself being much else. Matching pragmatism with idealism drives me. That said, if I could put my current life on hold, I'd probably go back to playing music all the time, reading and writing, and wandering through the woods thinking of this and that. With all the money I'd make in this gleeful parallel universe, I'd travel often. Until that day...
What I’m doing with my life
Starting a sourdough bread bakery. In theory, I should be making two kinds of bread. But one kind of bread (the leavened one) seems to go out faster than the other comes in, if you know what I mean. But it's all good. Moving in the right direction.

When I'm not feeding my starters, measuring, fermenting, kneading, baking, delivering and so on, I'm wrestling with my roommate's awesome dog or watching Charlie Rose ask fascinating people good questions. Sleep is conspicuously absent from the picture but someday that'll change. At least I hope! In the spare moments, I teach kids about food by means of pizza making.

Loving Philadelphia and wandering through the Wissahickon.
I’m really good at
Sourdough, cooking, jamming and recording, traveling on the cheap, networking, entrepreneurship.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm covered in some kind of flour or dough.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For the most part, I read blogs relating to food, urban economics, entrepreneurship and news. When I find time to read a book, I'll read non-fiction on cooking, farming, cities, and management.
Music - Here we go... MF Doom, DJ Shadow, Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Beach House, Neil Young, The War on Drugs, Pete Rock, The Shins, Tortoise, Wilco, Miles Davis, Coltrane, it goes on...
Food - Awesome ingredients prepared simply. Or cheap street food.
The six things I could never do without
Beyond the usual friends and family etc...

Sourdough starter
Kitchen
Guitar
Garden
Smart phone
Bike
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How Elon Musk is doing all that he is doing. It's completely insane.
How I can grow my business
What business I want to start next
What I can do to make the world better
What I want to do on my nonexistent days off
How many cool places I could travel to
On a typical Friday night I am
Gettting ready to bake for saturday morning deliveries while listening to NPR, BBC or Charlie Rose.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know. I can't whistle. So what!?
