I am putting a comma, here, and there.

My Self-Summary

Oof... how can you distill your personality in a paragraph or so? I can be forward and never shut up, or quiet and shy depending on who I'm with, what I had for breakfast and the phase of the moon! :) I can be lazy as sin, yet I cycle to work every day. At times I read a lot and can go through books like they're tabloid newspapers and at other times I'd rather watch reruns of tv programmes I've seen a million times before & am hard pushed to read a text! I love to watch foreign language films, but never know where to even begin looking... I both love and hate learning foreign languages - I can pick some things up quite easily but am a terrible student and hate to study. However I loved learning spanish in Madrid a few years ago and have more recently enjoyed relearning spanish and starting portuguese - well before I became distracted by more movies and books!! Time to study again I think!

As soft as it sounds, I think what I really want, deep down, is to find someone to love and connect with on every level and, if it's not to much to ask, to live happily ever after. But it's not easy to find that kind of connection with another person.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(a)Books by Terry Pratchett, Jasper Fforde, Neal Stephenson and whatever random book strikes my eye. I have two baskets full of books & an ever growing pile on the floor. I really should get shelves. But first I've to work my way through a Penguin Classics collection - first up The Day of the Triffids, then probably onto Breakfast at Tiffany's unless I am sidelined by my book clubs next book. This list may need an update soon!

(b)Delicatessen, Orfeu Negro, Malena, Donnie Darko, The Lives of Others, Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, Hitchhikers Guide, Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Motorcycle Diaries, Moulin Rouge (that surprised me too), the Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Lost in Translation (Bill Murray rocks!), Garden State, Chrysalis, Big Fish, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, any film by Almodovar, and finally Tears of the Black Tiger - great Thai take on the western genre. I say finally, but I could go on!

(c)Bell X1, Blood or Whiskey, Lisa Hannigan, The Guggenheim Grotto, The Kills, I'm From Barcelona, The Rascals, These Dancing Days, MGMT, Hot Chip, Queens of the Stone Age, The Gaslight Anthem, Wintersleep, The Courteeners, Cold War Kids, Damien Rice, The Pixies, Postgirobygget. Did I mention The Moldy Peaches? Best mention The Satin Peaches too. Well well well well, I could do with eating a peach right now.

(d)Indian, Wok, Mexican, and of course a greasy burger and chips from a proper greasy take-away! I can go for a bit of Italian & Spanish food too. Actually, wouldn't mind some chorizo right now, if you're making some!

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I'll do when I win the lottery. It'll totally happen one day.

Oh, just send a message. I don't bite. Unless I'm hungry. Which I am right now, so maybe bring some food!
