My self-summary
Cyberpunk in trade and style. I like building things: electronics, programs, relationships, ikea furnature :P I like hacking devices and people, expanding their scope beyond that intended by their original designers. I get absorbed in projects easily. I hate paper money. Credit cards aren't much better, I'm waiting for a crypto currency to take over.

I love boots with buckles... Actually most things with buckles. ***Useful buckles. Efficiency and purpose is the name of the game. My lab bench is always filled with the numerous guts of disembodied electronics, and partially completed projects. My monitor is never big enough, my keyboard is never loud enough. I'm a transhumanist, eagerly awaiting the day I can get genetic modifications, cybernetic enhancements, and a brain computer interface. As a first step I'm going NFC compatible, with a xNT implantable NFC chip. I see the internet as a natural evolution of consciousness and interaction. A sort of global neural network if you will.

Despite my love affair with the internet and technology I have also been known to enjoy the "real world". I love hiking, camping, backpacking, and skiing. I've done two 12 day backpacking treks in New Mexico and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Tag Bingo:
I'm  transgender,  non-monogamous,  panromantic ( but homosexual, go figure :> ), and slightly  genderqueer.

I love cuddling.
What I’m doing with my life
Science! It works bitches.

I just graduated with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I was doing research on Quantum Dot Microdisk Lasers and I miss it dearly. I definitely want to go for my PhD, but I haven't decided on a focus. My interests include Quantum Computation, Radiation Hardened Semiconductors (think vacuum channel transistors), Neural Interfaces, and NEMS. Previously I worked at a rocket factory that does cargo resupply to the ISS and before that I did network administration consulting (virtual servers and the like). Hopefully one day I'll catch a ride on one of their rockets and move to Mars.

I recently started working for a rather large corporation headquartered in the SF bay area as a software engineer. It's been a *interesting* time so far... Finding out that 200+ of your co-workers don't understand how the reply-all button works is always fun :D (Quick quiz, use your google-fu and that info to find which company... No cheating! :) ) Did I mention that I've also gone heavily into programming courses and not just applied physics? :> I've written my own kernel and /LOVE/ a good race condition / deadlock. Or better yet a heisenbug... I have the curse (blessing?) of loving the entire electronics stack from applied physics to analog / digital circuits to computer architecture all the way up to the software. There is a lot of beauty to be found in abstraction.

My dream long-term project is to design a (relatively-simple) processor down to the transistor level, fabricate it from the wafer up using DIY techniques, design and build the support circuitry, then finally write an operating system to sit on top.

TLDR: I like making the impossible possible.
The first things people usually notice about me
My curly hair :) Maybe my height too, but people usually comment on my hair.
