I am geeky, charismatic, and fun.

My Self-Summary

My big love is music and you might say I have a teeny, tiny obsession with it. I love going to gigs and festivals, and I've seen bands in every kind of venue imaginable from Wembley Stadium to the tiniest back rooms of a pub and back again. I'm also a giant geek and would be lost without my computer and iPod.

A few of my favourite things: chocolate, diet coke, music, sci fi/fantasy books/films/tv (my dirty not-so-secret), comics, cocktails, second hand music shops, thunderstorms, gigs, travelling, cooking (the fact that I don't burn down the flat when I attempt this still astounds me) . I may also have been known to pick up a pair of knitting needles on the odd occasion.

What I’m doing with my life

I've been living in London for a few years now. One of my favourite things to do in here is getting lost. No, really. Anywhere from Covent Garden to the back streets of Southwark, because it's always when I'm not entirely sure where I am that I find fantastic shops, pubs and restaurants. The downside being that usually I haven't a hope of finding them again! I'm also easily tempted by the cinema, theatre, museums, restaurants (I'm a big fan of food) and the prospect of chilling in a cosy pub on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The first things people usually notice about me

Personally I would have said it would be something along the lines of "Could she be any more obsessed with Metallica" or "Wow, she's drunk!" but I have canvassed the people in the know and the answers included "Sweet as pie", "Easy-going and friendly" and "Has a nice smile". So there you go.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror mainly, although I will read just about anything. Even technical manuals (though usually only when trying to do something electrical or build shelves or something). Anything by Amy Tan, Janet Evanovich, J R R Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Kelley Armstrong, Sara Douglass, Mercedes Lackey, Neil Gaiman, Laurell K Hamilton, Jacqueline Carey, Melanie Rawn, Charlaine Harris, Terry Brooks, Anne Bishop, David Eddings.

TV: Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, ER, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI, Most incarnations of Star Trek, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, The West Wing, Torchwood, Veronica Mars

Movies: Alien, Almost Famous, Batman Begins, Empire Records, Ghostbusters, Grosse Point Blank, Hairspray, Iron Man, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Lost in Translation, Singles, Stargate, The Goonies, The History Boys, Transformers, Wayne's World

Music: Metallica. Just a bit. Okay, a lot. Also Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Guns n Roses, Apocalyptica, Iron Maiden, Mother Love Bone, Tori Amos, Machine Head, Neil Young, Thunder, Black Stone Cherry

Food: Chinese, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Vietnames, Korean. Also pizza, lest you start wondering if there is an Asian theme going on.

The six things I could never do without

This one was hard! Only six things??? Okay:

Family
Friends
Music
Internet
Chocolate
Diet coke

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Food! (My honest to god knee-jerk answer).

On a typical Friday night I am

either comatose in front of the television after a knackering week or out and about getting my rock on up in Camden.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a massive love for comic books. Specifically DC comic books. Specifically the Bat-family. Angst and spandex, what more could a girl ask for?

You should message me if

we share a few interests, but also if you have a few wild cards to throw out as I'm always up for trying new things and have one or two of my own up my sleeve! A sense of humour is important, or, you know, the ability to fake a good laugh at one of my more crappy jokes. A new test subject for my cooking would be nice as well, so a strong stomach may be necessary, though I should note I haven't managed to poison anyone yet.

If you love to travel that's even better, I've been to some amazing places and have a list as long as my arm of where I'd like to go next. I love to explore new places and it's always fun to do with someone else, be it tiny side streets behind Borough Market or Gion district in Kyoto, Japan.

If any or all of that applies to you, drop me a line!
