My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm the cute quiet guy at the coffee shop that you've seen a dozen times, and you wonder why he never says anything to you. The guy that will give you a smile and a nod, but you don't even know his name.
The reason I haven't said anything comes down a very simple thing, being shy and always feeling awkward in those initial conversations. Which is why I am here instead of chatting up every cute girl at the coffee shop, gym, grocery store or bar. I always thought I'd just out grow this teenager-like social awkwardness, sadly it has yet to happen.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm doing synaptogenisis research. Mostly trying to keep research organized and on track by day, climbing by night. While generally trying to constantly learn more about everything. Though I have particular fondness towards science and international affairs.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

As far as what I'm really good at, I'm going to go with being modest. I find writing up summaries such as this to be a bit challenging as I'm not one to brag about myself.

I'll say climbing, though it's only sort of true. (Very much a matter of perspective.)

Otherwise remembering random trivia, noticing small details, lounging in hammocks, and being a third-wheel.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm going to go with my athletic build. If I'm smiling they notice that as well. Though, it's more of a smirk I suppose. I think it just makes people wonder what I'm thinking. Truth be told, it is often something totally inappropriate or something totally random.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite books have been captivating, easy reading, fiction for the most part. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the Lord of the Rings series if I had to pick. Though to be honest I read mostly non-fiction, intellectual, educational, biographies and the like (Peace not Apartheid, Elegant Universe; Guns Germs and Steel; Nerve Endings, a comparative biography of Golgi and Cajal), while trying to mix in some classics. Currently reading: A Song of Fire and Ice.

Movies: Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Matrix, Star Trek, Black Hawk Down, American Beauty, Saving Private Ryan, V for Vendetta. I like most action, drama, and sci-fi. I hate horror films though (horror for the sake of horror is just unappealing to me).

TV: I don't really watch TV on a regular basis since I cancelled my cable. Shows I have been a fan of: Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory, Star Trek (all of them), South Park, Family Guy, New Girl, CSI, NCIS, Robot Chicken, Band of Brothers, Game of Thrones.

I'll just put the last 3 songs I've downloaded as that's probably more informative as to what I'm listening to now than listing an infinitely long list of random or obscure artists in the attempt to impress one of you.

Fallout Boy: Centuries
Walk the Moon: Shut Up and Dance
Meg Myers: Desire

Food: Spicy! ...there may legitimately be something wrong with me, like capsaicin having little effect.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
my computer
climbing shoes
spicy food
sleep (my dreams are so much better than reality)
people that I can have unadulterated, uncensored intellectual conversations with
Star Trek
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

Do people expect serious answers or quick wit when reading answers to these questions?

How often online dating goes exactly like this:
If Aziz has no luck with this I fear I am doomed.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On a typical Friday night I'm in the gym climbing and then possibly out with friends, if I'm not there and I'm in town, I'm probably drinking and playing video games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not so sure I'm cut out for online dating. I'm not the easiest person to get to know, and tend to be socially anxious at first. So by the time I start to become comfortable, it's beyond the cut-off for most women deciding if they think it's worth continuing to see someone.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If any of these are true of you:
You're a girl that wears a short skirt and a long jacket.
You know all of the words to "We Didn't Start the Fire."
You like everything in the last verse of Dashboard Confessional's "So Impossible."
You have a healthy love of sci-fi.
You're cool with nerds.
You want to climb.
You don't have something like, "You're tall" as a requirement in your "you should message me if" section.
You've read all the way through this profile and still think I may be someone you might like to get to know.
You refrain from using "u" or random other text abbreviations in emails or texts. Seriously. It annoys the shit out of me and your phone auto-corrects now. It's not like texting 15 years ago when you'd have to hit 9 four times for the letter Z.
