I am opalescent, thoughtful, and interconnected.
My Self-Summary
I'm open-minded about most things and pretty unconventional. I
could be described as a hippie. I'm into all types of art and
creative expression. I'm intellectually-oriented and somewhat
nerdy. I enjoy learning about/discussing anti-racism, art, books,
biology, cinema, cultures, evolution, feminism, gender,
globalization, history, human rights, language, music, parenting,
philosophy, prehistoric humans, politics, primatology, privilege
and inequality, relationships, physics, sexuality, social issues,
sustainable living, spirituality, etc. I also spend equal amounts
of time just shooting the shit.
I have pretty strong social/political opinions. Most people would
probably call me "liberal". The OKC Politics Test deems me a
socialist. I'm really more of a neo-tribalist with left-leaning
tendencies. I think civilization has done more bad than good for
humanity as a whole, and that we as a species need to seriously
re-evaluate the way we've been living since we came up with that
pesky thing called sedentary agriculture.
I would classify myself as "spiritual" rather than "agnostic." I
don't believe in anthropomorphic deities, but I do believe in a
higher power. The Force, if you will. I am not particularly
religious, but have more respect for egalitarian ideologies than
hierarchical, dogmatic ones. I like astrology and the tarot, and
although I'm not quite sure how they work, I have found them to be
at least somewhat useful and accurate. I'm also interested in
yoga/meditation.
I'd like to meet new people for friendship or dating. I'm not
particularly looking for a serious relationship right now, but
whatever happens, happens. I'm attracted to people regardless of
their sex, but am not interested in dating men at this time. Sorry!
What I’m doing with my life
I just finished my Anthropology degree. Right now, I'm living at
home with my parents in a state of semi-employment. I plan to
attend grad school at some point within the next few years. My
ultimate career path will likely consist of one or more of the
following elements:
1) teaching
2) writing/other creative endeavors
3) working with children, human-like primates, or disadvantaged
groups of people
4) helping to right social wrongs
5) doing some kind of research on some kind of culturally-related
topic
I'd also like to get about 10 more degrees in various subjects, but
unfortunately it's rather difficult to stay in college forever.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating on things I don’t want to do, and concentrating
intensely on things that interest me.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I don't look 23. My face is deceptively youthful and innocent,
so don't be fooled.

Food: I recently became a vegetarian. I eat a lot of rice, frozen
fruit smoothies, broccoli, pasta, veggie burgers, minestrone soup,
quesadillas, granola, salsa w/ chips, yogurt, etc. I refuse to eat
anything with meat, high fructose corn syrup, or lots of
preservatives.
The six things I could never do without
1) My central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and
nerves.)
2) Media (as in works of writing, art, or film, and the instruments
used in their creation.)
3) Sex. Well, really.
4) Friends.
5) My baby blankie. I’m sure I’d eventually get over it, but the
Blankster and I go way back.
6) Substances that enable my body to continue living, like food and
oxygen.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The destruction of our natural habitat and way of life by modern
civilization.
Different ways of categorizing and arranging my books.
Hidden layers of meaning in songs, movies, books, etc.
Places I want to go, things I want to do.
What my cats are REALLY thinking.
Future courses I would like to teach.
How my life experiences have made me into the person I am, and what
kind of person I want to be in the future.
