Convincing people to think about things in a different way,
listening to people, getting tickets to awesome little known indie
bands before they sell out (the tickets, that is), picking good
fruit at a decent price, deciding that 5 quid is an appropriate sum
of money to pay for a jar of honey if it is really good honey,
losing my keys, reconsidering things, realising that I was right
the first time, applying well honed critical thinking skills to
task that simply do not warrant that much attention paid to them
(see honey related skill above).
I am really BAD at choosing movies in DVD retail stores.
Update (2009): I have become much more decisive. Epiphany on
decision making - it is easy. Just two steps. First: Make the
decision. Second: Live with it. Easy peasy! : )
Update (2010): Here are some things that I do and enjoy and/or
would like to do more of in the future.
- yoga: I have been keeping this up over the past few years and
eventually may do a teachers course
- bike riding: I ride to work everyday. I used to ride a mountain
bike and I am looking forward to (hopefully) getting back in to
mountain bike riding again at some point (when I have a little more
time perhaps).
- reading: I am a reader. Yessiry. I like (good) literature and
poetry. I also have a soft spot for Terry Pratchett, although I
might be growing out of that one. The last time I read one it was a
dirty struggle.
- cooking and food: I am well in to both of these things. I have
always cooked, and grew up growing veggies etc. The idea of at some
point having space and, perhaps, chickens, or better yet, turkeys I
consider a good one. However, I have no idea when it might seem
like a good idea not to live in a city... that is the hard
bit!
- thinking about stuff in an academic fashion: now this is where
things get tricky. I am now on my third degree. This makes me a bit
of a brainy know it all at times. I relish cleverness in my friends
as well. But I can also be a thicky when I know people well, and
especially when they can give as good as they get...
Ooooh another update (2010): I no longer lose my keys - ever!! I
have a system and it is the best thing ever. No lost keys for over
18 months now. See? Some things get better with age.
