My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I defy succinct summarization.

I'm happily married to someone I met on okcupid. Sorry ladies, I'm taken!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Mostly just trying to live.... I spend a lot of my life working, but by no means does work define my life. I go out, I work out, I practice Kung Fu and Escrima, and I spend a lot of time trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I know I want to go back to school, but I'm having trouble deciding exactly for what. Honestly, if any of you can answer the question "what I'm doing with my life", drop me a line, 'cuz I'd really like an answer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at taking things apart, and only slightly less good at putting them back together. I'm a superlative skier and derive unbounded delight in procuring and brandishing copious (perhaps extraneous) vocabulary. People pay me to make computers go, so I guess I'm good at that, but more than anything else, I'm really good at playing devil's advocate.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My beard - it is beyond reproach!
My sense of humor - but they don't always notice it in a positve way :)
My directness - I never mastered the art of small talk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books (or, really, authors) - Vernor Vinge, J.R.R. Tolkien, Emmanuel Kant, Isaac Asimov, John Stuart Mill, Friedrich Nietzsche, D.T. Suzuki, R. Scott Bakker, The Illuminatus Trilogy, anything Greek and ancient, Orson Scott Card, Jared Diamond, Lao Tse, Plato, Douglas Hofstadter, Hermann Hesse, Robert Heinlein, it goes on and on.....

Music - Oh man, music is such an important thing for me.... too much to list. However... Ween, Primus, Violent Femmes, Johnny Cash, Aphex Twin, Muse, Orbital, Bob Dylan, The KLF, Mobb Deep, Jane's Addiction, Modern Jazz Quartet, Dr. Dre, The Pixies, Future Sound of London, Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Lee Scratch Perry, The Orb, Dead Kennedys, The Mountain Goats, John Coltrane, and lately, a lot of Vampire Weekend and Lady Gaga (yeah, I admitted it). And that's just for starters....

Movies - Fight Club, The Fifth Element, anything Kubrick, Ghost in the Shell, Dune, Princess Mononoke, Super Troopers, Apollo 13, Natural Born Killers, Back to the Future

Food - I'm about the least picky eater that you'll ever meet. While there are things that I say I "don't like" (ie cauliflower) that doesn't mean I won't eat it, or even enjoy it. All that being said, I have a special soft spot for sushi, Korean food, pretty much any form of eggs, and a huge, dripping steak (preferably still mooing). Also, I make an amazing pot of chili.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Four seasons
-A good debate
-A good laugh
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm either curled up with a good book and some good music (maybe a good video game) or else I'm going out to get my dance on.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once [redacted] my [redacted] in a [redacted] [redacted]! You wouldn't believe the [redacted] that [redacted] on the [redacted].

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you have a love of words, language and debate, but know how to take and give a jape or jibe. If you're equally at home hitting a dance club, watching bad TV on the couch, or hiking in the mountains, then chances are we can find something interesting to go do.
