I am voracious, curious, and a wild dreamer.
My Self-Summary
Self-descriptions are usually of one of two varieties: inflated to
make ourselves appear more than what we really are and minimize our
faults, or less than what we are because we are too modest to admit
to those qualities that are great. Honesty is much more
important.
I am not usually in the habit of talking about myself, but I'm an
excellent conversationalist, the key to being a very good listener
and how I commune with the world, encounter new experiences and
people, and how I learn new points of view and experience some new
cultures. Conversation is an art form that I may not have
perfected, but I love to practice. I can be shy and adventurous
depending upon my mood, but I am warm, friendly, adventurous, and
cuddly. Plus, I love hugs.
I can speak Italian better than enough to get by, I seem to be
really good at pop culture though I don't have a television, and
I'm pretty good at going into a strange country or environment and
exploring without fear. I like the energy of having friends,
family, and acquaintances around because it makes the world a less
complex and more beautiful place. The world is complicated enough
and technology has made our lives more dependent, not simpler, so
why don’t we just spend more time with those we care about before
we realize it’s too late.
I am a voracious and passionate reader, curious about almost
everything, and I lust after new experiences and new knowledge. I
have recently learned to appreciate some newer contemporary authors
including Barry Doyle and Irvine Welsh, and I am a recent convert
to Indie Comics, but I have always appreciated animation from
Saturday morning to Pixar. I don’t watch movies as often as I would
like, but I appreciate the Independent, foreign, and classic
variety. I have an appreciation for almost every type of music, but
I generally appreciate the independent and unsigned stuff more
often with a few classics thrown in for nostalgia. I love making
music mixes for friends near and far.
What I’m doing with my life
I am in sales at the moment, the business to business variety, and
while I seem to be really good at it, I am also working on an
Internet radio Network thing, the natural evolution to a radio show
I started from an apartment in Brooklyn, one of my real passions
being music and discovering new bands.
I’m really good at
I am really good at many many things, but I like to think I am on a
perpetual journey for self-improvement that I will never perfect
but always grow closer and closer to. I love helping people, and I
love to listen. Some friends call for advice and while I do that, I
also listen a lot and let them vent. Life is complicated enough and
we are here to help each other become better human beings. I would
like to believe I am doing some good in the world.
The first things people usually notice about me
a smile behind deep penetrating blue eyes that reveal a intense but
warm soul.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Lots of
Illustrated books,
Dr Seuss,
Lane Smith,
Mark Helprin novels,
especially Winter's Tale and Soldier Of The Great War, and all of
Harry Potter. Latest reads: The Commitments by Roddy Doyle,
Parabola Magazine, The Sun Magazine, and a biography of Dante that
I am still reading off and on. I am immersed in The Name Of The
Rose by Umberto Eco. I seem to be on an Italian and Irish
literature kick lately.
Music is universal, but I am partial to local and unsigned bands,
some of it from friends everywhere. There are too many to list. but
here are a few:
Maggie Walters, Tom Vandenavond,
Dave Hanley, Mark O'Connor,
Django Reinhardt, Rolling
Stones, Beatles, Ramones, Nick Lowe, Marshall Crenshaw, Joanna
Newsome, and lots more Indie from a few Local
College Radio stations.
I don't own a TV so I don't watch much. Freaks And Geeks and all of
Apatof’s film projects are favorites. Wes Anderson, Tony Gatlif,
the Farrelly Bros, the Cohen Bros, many independents and classics
are also worth watching.
The six things I could never do without
Face it, most of us could survive (although difficult in some
cases) without caffeine, television, and an iPod. However, my do or
die are: Friends, Family, Music, Books, an Open Heart, and a Sense
Of Humour.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everyone and everything has a purpose. I spend a lot of time
thinking about many things, but I would like to know why and the
reason we were all brought here to this place and time and we can
all help the world become a better place.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out seeing a band and hanging out with friends or curling up with a
good book and letting my imagination run wild. I am pretty open to
just about anything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'd rather walk around barefoot, but I clean up really well for the
stiff suits and grown ups in your family.
You should message me if
Message me if you are looking for a real person. I am partial to a
woman who isn’t afraid to think independently, have her own
opinions, and isn’t afraid of being intelligent.
You should be someone who appreciates art, music, and literature,
since I thrive on intellectual and artistic stimulation. You should
want to have children, not necessarily now, but eventually. You
should want to become a partner since family is very important and
a responsibility that should be shared equally. And hopefully, you
love kids and understand that they are people, too.
On a purely physical level, I am attracted to brunettes and
redheads, though an occasional blond has caught my eye. Being
Italian, I am mostly attracted to women who aren't so light skinned
but like life, there are exceptions to every rule or preference.
