I like to dance, but it takes me a while to muster the courage to get on the dance floor. I own a record player, which gives me a reason to steal from my Ma's old record collection. I dig deliciously, irreverent & intelligent jokes.

My life is public school education. I'm a writer struggling lately to find the Muse, so I've been taking drum lessons instead. But, there's still that nagging feeling to write; the natural inclination to not take anything for granted in the world around me. So, I jot anything down I can find: in every object, every strand of hair, quick brush up w/ another person on some line or on the train, every chord struck, every note played there, hoping to see if a story emerges.

My voice. My male students laugh at it ALL THE TIME. But, I find the looks on their faces refreshing when I tell them that one day, Freshman or sophomore year of high school, they will wake up & realize the same voice has inhabited their bodies.
