My self-summary
Was born in New Mexico but raised in California.

I tell a lot of jokes. I tell too many jokes in fact. At least they are all hilarious though.

I'm a pretty calm person, so you will rarely see me getting worked up outside of a heated video game match. I tend to just go with the flow, but left on my own I spend most of my time writing, reading, or video gaming.

I am good at conversation and debating too, since nothing you do short of assault will offend me. I told you I'm calm.
What I’m doing with my life
After dicking around for far too long I am finally returning to school to get a degree in journalism. With degree in hand, I will be able to tell it like it is, and actually have people listen to me when I tell it.

Writing stories. Telling people what I think and why I think it. But then no one reads it yet so oh well. One day though. You can read them at but you probably won't read them. It's cool.

I am currently trying to write a comic (and might need an artist, yo) about people who fight robots for a living. How original!

I also help my friends organize concerts about the greater Los Angeles area every so often.
I’m really good at
I'm hilarious, and conceited about it.

Getting obsessed about something for a week or so, then becoming incredibly bored by it.

Thinking. I can do it all day, I can't control myself.

Writing, I do that a lot too.

Knowing both scientific facts, and pseudoscientific ones.

Oh yeah, I am also really good at being logical, rational, and not getting angry, like a trusty robot.
The first things people usually notice about me
The guy that is annoyingly quiet. At least until I find the perfect opportunity to deadpan a joke, making my friends laugh, and everyone else within earshot stare at me and wonder if I am serious about whatever I just said.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Seeing as how I want to be a writer, I spend a lot of time reading. A short list would include C.S. Lewis, Dalton Trumbo, Henry Miller, John Steinbeck, Chris Kohler, Bill Bryson, and most of the writers over at

I don't watch a ton of movies (my netflix queue is mostly tv shows and documentaries) but I always love a good thriller or cheesy action movie. I'll pretty much watch anything though.

Music is whatever you show me. I'll listen. If I had to choose someone, right now it would be Tom Waits, J. Arthur Keenes Band, or anything Blues. Right now Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson have been great background music for writing as well.

Oh food? I grew up poor, so I'm not picky, everything tastes great to me. I am partial to Mexican food though.

I should also mention video games again. I'll just say I like the Nintendo games and the weird games. Killer 7, Shadow of the Colossus, House of the Dead Overkill, Mortal Kombat, but also Animal Crossing, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon. Also, Earthbound is the greatest.
The six things I could never do without
1. Science, and the technology that comes from it. (Seriously, I doubt I could last one day in an era or locale without central heating and refrigerators. How humanity survived long enough to invent these things is beyond me.)
2. A pencil and paper
3. Reason and logic
4. Video Games
5. Friends and Family
6. Oh yeah, God. That should probably be first.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Things I could write about and why I am being lazy and not writing them.

Rap lyrics.

Becoming a robot.

Quotes from television shows.

How to stop thinking so much. I'm thinking about it right now in fact! oohhh noooo-
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends if our schedules finally line up. Barring that, probably singing something really loudly while thinking of things to write/doing homework. Lately I've been listening to early 90s gangsta rap, since I feel particularly thug after getting thrown in jail for no reason (ask about that story sometime!).

Or I'm stuck at work again. This is more likely.
