My Self-Summary

The name is Rae. I have heart. Music is my driving force. Love my family and my job. Life is pretty sweet!

Side note:
Why are people afraid to create friendships on these dating sites? lolol Aren't we all here to open our communication horizons?

What I’m doing with my life

I'm an office administrator in the local EM office. I'm the lead vocals for a band called "Slow Gin" ... we rock ;)

I'm also trying to reach 1,000 words so I can get a 100% complete on this website. Obviously, I don't think I'm that interesting or I wouldn't be stating that fact in this writing...but hey! Throw me a bone here! lolol

So. In order to fulfill this site's cream dream...I think I'm going to list a few of my most favorite quotes :)

Sanity may be madness but the maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be. ~Don Quixote

Fear grows in darkness; if you think there's a bogeyman around, turn on the light. ~Dorothy Thompson

A sobering thought: what if, at this very moment, I am living up to my full potential? ~ Jane Wagner

Love comes to those who still hope even though they've been disappointed, to those who still believe even though they've been betrayed, to those who still love even though they've been hurt before. ~ Unknown

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. ~Albert Einstein

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts. ~ Albert Einstein

I’m really good at

Making people laugh. I'm great at helping. For whatever reason I can't say "no" to someone in need.

I'm also VERY good at creating these idiotic bracket things. Apparently "The Man" agrees! I'm such a tool...

The first things people usually notice about me

My loud laugh *giggles*

Then my outrageously red hair...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music:
Too many to even mention...but we'll cluster by saying the genres of classic rock, 90s grunge and punk rock like: Alice in Chains, Mad Season, STP!, No Doubt, a few Nirvana songs, and Soundgarden, rock and some metal like: Tool, Chevelle, Muse, Red, The Autumn Offering, Evan's Blue...a couple slayer songs and of course Pantera.

Not a fan of rap but I loves me some hip hop like old school Run DMC and Jam Master Jay! :) I also like the Roots.

uhhh what else *taps fingers* OH!! The Eagles, Queen, Elton John, and some Led Zeppelin, Nazareth

I dig some folk music like Ray Lamontagne, Jack Johnson and Bob Dylan, Dax Rigs, the Jakes, Neil Young.

Although I can appreciate the Beatles and their cultivation of a new sound...I'm not a fan.

Books:
Wow. Where to start. I've been on a religion kick lately so most any and all books about spiritualism and things of that sort, I dig. Currently reading "Anam Cara".
I also love reading Jesse Stuart books. They remind me of my mom :)

Movies:
Boondock Saints
Elizabethtown
Elvira-Mistress of the dark
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Gabriel
Constantine
The Witches of Eastwick
The Craft
Most any horror movie
National Lampoons Van Wilder
Scream Trilogy
The Princess Bride
Steel Magnolias
Labyrinth
Godfather Trilogy
Jay and Silent Bob strikeback

The six things I could never do without

Obviously the depth of this question is to expand oneself beyond the mediocrity of everyday items...so let's think out of the box a little:
Love
Laughter
Spiritual awareness
My "spidey senses" lolol
Family
Friends

I spend a lot of time thinking about

well...most everything lolol

YAY! For obsessively trying to beat this site...I know I can write 1,000 simple words. I mean....really!
lolol

So without further adieu: My most favorite poem of all time!

Desiderata
By: Max Ehrmann

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

On a typical Friday night I am

Practicing with my band or hanging out with my girls.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

LOL The insinuation of this question is really hilarious!

I'm not very private with my loved ones...most all who know me know most everything there is to know.

But for complete strangers: that's a different story!

You should message me if

You're intelligent, have a good sense of humor and are currently employed hahaha
Seriously it isn't that complicated people :P
