My self-summary
Howdy y'all :) I am second year dental student at Tufts. I'm an avid figure skater, and an all-around fun person. As most people are apt to say, I am not that good at filing out these types of things. But I'm a pretty open book when I'm talking to someone, so feel free to message me and ask me any questions you may have :)

Since this is a summary, here are some of my life highlights:
-1988: Born in Dallas, TX.
-1992: Watched the Albertville Olympics and asked my mom if I could start skating.
-1993-2006: Grew up, went to school, was an overall well-rounded person. Lots happened, but nothing that would warrant special mention.
-2006: Moved to Cambridge for undergrad. Haven't looked back.
-2010-2011: Worked at my undergrad school for a year while applying to dental schools.
-2011-present: Dental school and living in downtown Boston.
What I’m doing with my life
I want to be a dentist when I grow up. Since I'm now in dental school, most of my time is spent in class, in lab, in the library or with my nose in my iPad since no one uses textbooks anymore. (Exciting, I know...) When I'm not in school, I like going out around Boston with my friends, seeing shows (musical theater is my favorite, but also opera, symphony, theater, ballet), or just sitting at home on the computer watching Will & Grace, Charmed or 30 Rock for the millionth time.
I’m really good at
listening, board games, baking in a toaster oven, live-tweeting figure skating competitions, fantasy figure skating, quoting Will and Grace, inserting parenthetical statements everywhere (whether in text or speech), not using the Oxford comma and hosting parties.
The first things people usually notice about me
I think some of the first things people notice are my small frame (what are hips?), the way I carry myself, my colorful glasses. But I could be totally wrong.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Jane Austen (I've read Pride and Prejudice, Lady Susan, Mansfield Park and a good selection of her letters. Still need to finish the rest of her Big Six), anything by Jen Lancaster, Our Mutual Friend, Wide Sargasso Sea, Cold Mountain, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, The Hours, The Other Boleyn Girl, anything by Philippa Gregory, the Shopaholic series, Bel Canto, Stash, The Dressmaker, Brave New World, The Piano Teacher, The Luxe series, the Gemma Doyle trilogy, The Golden Compass, Between Boyfriends, Nausea... This list could really go on forever. Basically, I'll read just about anything and I can only think of 2 books I gave up on because I disliked them.

Movies: Gone With the Wind, Les Miserables, Vanity Fair, West Side Story, Pride and Prejudice, the animated Disney movies (particularly The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Pocahontas, etc), Legally Blonde, Adam and Steve, The Duchess, Clue, Volver, Selena, Brokeback Mountain, Chicago, My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, Anastasia (both the animated version and the one with Ingrid Bergman and Yul Brenner) and whatever I can find on Netflix. This list would not be nearly as extensive as my book list if I were to actually list everything.

TV Shows: Will & Grace, Charmed, Glee, Design Star, anything on HGTV, GCB, Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock (not that I have cable or time to watch much anymore)

music: Britney Spears, opera (mostly 19th century Italian, but really anything after Handel is cool with me [da capo arias are the death of me]), Top 40, country, hip hop and more. i'll listen to just about anything once and most of it i'll listen to a couple more times at least. I also often wake up with random songs in my head. One day it will be Trees on the Mountain from Susannah, the next it will be Shake Ya Tailfeather by Nelly.

Food: I'm a really picky eater, but I love chocolate in many forms, peanut butter, dairy (especially cheese) and carbs. I basically live on grilled cheese and salads when I remember to buy lettuce.
The six things I could never do without
1: My friends
2: My cell phone
3: My Apple products (cheating, I know)
4: A comfortable place to live
5: icenetwork.com
6: Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where i want to be when I get older, both in terms of geography and life goals/plans; how I want to redecorate my room; what I should eat next; how I wish I went to the gym more; the pros and cons of the Oxford comma; how I can incorporate more semicolons into my everyday writing.
On a typical Friday night I am
out with friends, relaxing at home, or studying if there are exams looming. I'm happy doing any of those things as long as I have fun people to keep me company (or good music in the case of studying). Also, I have a tendency to skip going out to a bar if there's a skating competition on that I can watch and live-tweet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
1) I tend to spend way too much time deciding what to say in an initial message to someone on here. Once the conversation starts flowing, I can expostulate on just about anything, but that first step is always the hardest for me.

2) I play fantasy figure skating. It's just like fantasy football except a million times better.

3) It really bothers me that some of these headings don't have an ellipsis after them because it's hard to decide if you should write in full sentences or complete the prompt.
