I'm a west coast girl... I moved from California to New York in 2004.
As a teacher, free time is hard to come by (during the school year), but I've been able to make time for the important things like friends, dodgeball, and salsa classes.
I appreciate being silly and really like laughing. A lot. I tend to find humor in the worst possible situations (unless of course they are really sad ones or something).
I am also a good person I'd say, fairly intelligent and easygoing. I get along with a variety of people. Oh yeah, and I don't put up with crap.
I like happy hours, walking around the city, dive bars, theme parties, parks on nice days, and traveling... especially to island paradises and places where I can practice my Spanish. So far, I've been all over W. Europe, India, Costa Rica, Cuba, the DR, Cancun, Puerto Rico, the Galapagos Islands and Peru.

Listening, cooking, making people feel better about their jokes, bowling and beer pong (sometimes), mario brothers on old school nintendo, dancing, teaching.

My smile, my laugh? That I'm a teacher? Something about the loud voice and habit of scolding always gives it away. I shoot a mean stink eye and finger wag.

My favorite book is NOT The Alchemist. It wasn't bad, I just think it's kind of overrated. It's hard to say what my favorite book is. I enjoyed Blindness by Saramago.

Favorite music: A variety though a lot of hip hop. Snoop, Dr. Dre, Mos Def, Biggie, M.I.A., The Cardigans, Jurassic 5, Natalie Merchant, Postal Service, Ladytron, Orishas, Ozomatli, The Roots, Le Tigre, Outkast, Sinatra, Bebel Gilberto, Billie Holiday, Cibo Matto.

Favorite TV shows: Food Network, Law and Order, House, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons, Golden Girls, Cosby. I don't really watch anything regularly though.

Favorite movies: It depends on my mood, but here's a sampling. Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Some Kind of Wonderful, Strictly Ballroom, Elf, Saved, Love and Basketball, The Mummy, Blade, Friday, Mean Girls, Save the Last Dance.

Favorite foods: Indian and Mexican. I should also say that I like orange the color, but not the fruit or the juice-- ick.

Friends, a passport, a kitchen, text messaging, my computer, spices (in no particular order)

I would stop there. I spend a lot of time just thinking. Too much probably.

In bed recovering from a week's worth of teaching OR throwing in a movie/ going to one OR rallying to go out and celebrate the weekend with friends.
