My Self-Summary

Well to start I'm currently spinning my wheels on getting a job or returning to grad school to get a PhD. What field you ask? Computer Science!

If you're still here that's awesome, I promise I'm not your average computer nerd. When not doing school work, I really try to do anything other than sit at a computer. I could list my interests but that's what everyone does. If you want to know those just ask!

So how about some interesting facts instead? I'm good at music trivia, and movie trivia to a lesser extent. I can tell you whether it is really duct or duck tape (answer may surprise you!). I'm currently embarking on completing a "100 things in 1001 days" list where you set 100 goals (big or small) to accomplish. A life goal of mine is to hike the Appalachian Trail straight through. I'm a champion Mario Kart-er. I own three acoustic guitars but no electrics (I still haven't figured that one out myself). I have interesting facial expressions. I try to do a crossword puzzle every week and use online chess as a way to keep in touch with some of my friends. Cats seem to really like me for some reason, though I'm more of a dog person. I enjoy reading but my "to read" pile grows quicker than I can read them. I like going to bluegrass festivals. I operate a small humor website with a group of my friends (if you want the URL you have to ask!). I have a genuine interest in theatre, art, and good conversation. My family is extremely important to me. It's nearly impossible to find me in a bad mood.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm teaching at Northern Kentucky University as an adjunct while I determine whether I want to go back to grad school for a PhD or enter the real world (a.k.a. get a job).

I’m really good at

The question should be what things aren't I good at. (kidding, kidding)

The first things people usually notice about me

That I am staring awkwardly at them.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I bounce between classics, modern thrillers, fantasy, historical, and informative.
Movies: Again, I jump around... though a lot of independent, foreign, and older movies recently.
Music: Bluegrass, folk, blues, rock
Food: Asian

The six things I could never do without

The necessities:
Family
Friends
The Interweb
Air
Food
Shelter

The more interesting stuff:
Disc golf
Plants
Reading news
Hiking hat
Lime juice
Stain sticks

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Witty answers for questions like these.

On a typical Friday night I am

Lately my social life has gone downhill due to the double whammy of work and teaching. However, I could be with my friends enjoying a round of disc golf, a Jake Speed concert, a (bad but laughable) horror flick, or any number of strange activities. I also don't mind just staying at home and watching a movie or reading a book, alone time can be just as good as being out socializing. It's all about balance.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not sure what you consider private or juicy. I suppose if there's something you want to know just ask me.

You should message me if

If you found any of the stuff I said above was remotely funny (meaning you have at least some sense of humor). I guess being human, alive (sorry, zombies aren't my thing), and somewhere around my age and location would be helpful too.

More seriously, I'm always open to meeting new people and I cannot really pin down my ideal match because you just never know, right? The traits I value most in a partner are a sense of humor, intelligence (college education or in college), and being physically active (I like to get out and do stuff after all). Having the ability to hold a good conversation and at least some similar interests are important too.

I'm definitely seeking someone that is looking (if a spark is there) to pursue a relationship, but am also looking to meet friends.

It has come to my attention that OKC says I respond selectively. I'm not sure what their criteria is but I'll explain. If you give me a one line message like "ur cute" or "let's chat" or something that generally lacks substance or proper spelling and grammar I probably won't respond. Otherwise odds are you'll hear from me.

I suppose, in the end, if you're willing to message me then you should ;)
