I love sports (watching and playing), music, dancing and conversations with intellect. I'm educated, professional and rather sane given the state of the world. I'm looking for fun and companionship and am open to a relationship with the right person. A true A-type personality, I am outgoing and have no problem taking charge. On the flip side, I really appreciate a strong lead so I can sit back and relax sometimes. Not much really gets me down--I'm a person that can take lemons and make lemonade at every opportunity. Some things really are not that important in the larger schematic of life, so I generally can keep a good perspective and pick my battles wisely. I love the space I occupy in life with many wonderful and diverse friends and I treat that space well. I often don't like moving with a crowd of people and prefer to spend more personal time with my friends, meeting the crowd out on the town or hanging out alone when it suits me. (Wow, this is really hard!)

Books: non-fiction the last few years, centering on the Revolutionary and Civl War periods, real life is so much more interesting than stories! I've read everything from James Baldwin to Harold Robbins and all 100 "classics" plus the encyclopedia as a kid.

Movies: or books? Books always win. Been loving some of the foreign films (Indian, French) and American films that take you on an adventure like, Under the Tuscan Sun or A Good Year. Favorite films of all time: Light the Red Lantern, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sound of Music.

Music: almost anything. blues, alt. and classic rock, jazz, some urban, some classical, some country (but not too much). Love to catch a good local blues or rock band when I can.

Food: love Mexican, Italian, Greek/Mediterranean, desserts. Almost whatever. I love to cook and do it well.

Knowledge, family, exercise (mental and physical), fresh food (fruits and veggies), opportunity, perspective.

Celebrating the end of the work week...it does not matter what or where...happy hour....or at home with a good book or movie and a glass of wine...grabbing a bite and seeing a band...having a good run and working up a sweat in the gym.
