I am empathetic, strangely alluring, and a really good cook.
My Self-Summary
I'm a Pittsburgh native who has just moved to the wild, wild west.
I'm going to school for my master's degree in anthropology, because
I hate money. When I grow up, I want to be an archaeologist, which
is a real job, I swear! I've actually been doing archaeology for
the past few years. It's been fun, bumming around the country and
digging up old shit, literally and figuratively- you haven't lived
until you've dug up a privy pit right before lunch. Cholera is not
often a job hazard these days! But now it's nice to have an
apartment and to know what state I'll be in next month.
I'm a progressive feminist. I like a good debate. I've got a pretty
damn good sense of humor if I do say so myself. I'm also really
sucky at these sorts of things; it takes me freakin' _hours_ to
write cover letters for resumes. I know everyone says that, but,
whatever, it's true. So, yeah.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing papers and reading other people's papers, mostly.
I’m really good at
making margaritas. The secret is to stay the hell away from mixes.
The first things people usually notice about me
Heh, I only know what people tell me, and they're probably lying.
But they claim it's the smile.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
This one's really hard, because I've got some seriously broad
tastes. My mixed CDs have been known to hurt people's brains. Every
time I make a list here, I end up making it too long, and then I
look again a few months later and wonder what I was smoking back
then. Let's see. I like anything with garlic, cheese, or chocolate.
I've got a huge pile of books that I've bought and haven't read yet
and won't for a while, because I'm rerereading some Terry
Pratchett. Music-wise, I've been able to find stuff in pretty much
every genre that I like, but stand-outs are Sleater-Kinney, Franz
Ferdinand, Indigo Girls, Johnny Cash, and Fiona Apple. I don't
really buy CDs anymore, so I mostly just have a handful of songs
from a whole lot of people, and a lot of those are pretty random.
The six things I could never do without
There are the basics, of course, and I love my friends and family
dearly. Beyond that, I'm happiest when I've got plenty of sleep, an
internet connection, a bookstore (preferably used), a nice array of
international restaurants, and people with whom I can have good
conversations near me. Oh, I get one more. Chocolate? Hope?
Flipflops?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I bet the real answer to this is something embarrassing like "sex"
or "food" or what the next line to the song stuck in my head is.
It's almost definitely not, you know, the nature of God or how I
can help bring about world peace.
On a typical Friday night I am
sleeping or avoiding doing homework.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I lecture people who have Bush '04 bumper stickers on their cars. I
mean, while I'm in my car, driving. Not to their faces.
You should message me if
Well, you should not message me for a booty call. I need to know
someone's full name before I sleep with them, at the very least,
jeez.
