My self-summary
I've been here long enough that it's probably time I update my profile.

I like to build things; some of it's code, sometimes it's something a little more tangible...which might explain why I like to casually cook. I work for a yet another small-ish Silicon Valley tech company. I'm definitely not a workaholic, but the people and the work are enough a part of my life where I'm bound to talk (mostly good things) about them.

My interests are varied. I finally finished reading Moby Dick (it gave me a real appreciation for novellas), attempting to play the guitar for 6 years, and sometimes like to look at the designs on manhole covers.

It probably doesn't belong in my summary, but every Sunday, I go to the local farmers' market. Between the random people and the random foods (guava, anyone?), it's kinda fun.
What I’m doing with my life
For now, I'm working in the tech sector, trying to save enough to escape 40-hour work weeks. If that happens (and buying a house doesn't happen first), I'll probably end up doing roughly the same thing, only for myself; I've been programming for over 15 years, so it's definitely a part of my life.

I try to be very responsible where it counts...but only there ;). I call my family every week, I try to visit them every month--stuff like that.

I've been trying to get out and get more cultural experiences, lately. If you you of any or are looking for someone to go with, hit me up!
I’m really good at
Computer stuff (obviously). That's my job and a hobby.

Working with my hands (in an analog way). I do surprisingly well in shops (even when fire's involved), but also I'm quite happy with my seat-of-the-pants style of cooking. I'm OK at gardening, though I'm always a little sad when I lose a plant.

I'm better at English than you'd think.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm sorta tall and sorta thin, but not abnormally so.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As much as I'm a bit of an elitist when it comes to culture (more of The Atlantic, less of Us Weekly), I'm a sucker for certain pop clichés. Edit: I realized this is more true than I'd care to admit.

Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Groundhog Day, Not Another Teen Movie, Blazing Saddles, Back to the Future, High Fidelity, Annie Hall. I always forget I like Wes Anderson movies until a new one comes out.

Sublime, Green Day, blink-182, Oasis, Nirvana, Huey Lewis and the News, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, The Ramones, The Killers.

There's something great about bands that can make amazing songs with thoughtful lyrics and a handful of chords.

The Sound and the Fury, Freakonomics

I'm happy to find any food I'm reasonably certain is vegetarian, but especially Indian.
The six things I could never do without
Curry
Raspberries
Aimless walks
Hot showers. Two. Daily.
Rainy days
Open spaces
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything I see.

I also spend too much time thinking about things I'll be working on in the next few days. I suppose I'm planning ahead, but not in a formal way; I'm really just thinking about what I'll be doing two days from now.
On a typical Friday night I am
It varies. Poker (only $20, or so) from time to tome, occasionally at work, sometimes at a bar with friends, nothing...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've never been particularly affectionate. Not to say I don't care, just that I might not show it. If you're someone who craves attention, we're probably not a good match.

I have a very mild case of germaphobia. It used to just be mild.

My favorite mood is contemplative.

I watch Glee.

Someone recently described me as "the strangest man I know," and someone else said "you surprise me." Consider yourself warned.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
It'd be great if we compliment each other some way. I'd like to meet someone I have enough in common with where we're compatible, but not so much that we can't introduce each other to news things.

Or if you just see yourself as an antiheroine.
