I'm just your typical fun-loving guy...
I guess this is where I braindump about me ... I like beaches and
the night sky and learning about stuff and robots and maths and physics and computers and music and politics and clouds and educating people and camping and bushwalking and
saving the
world and long conversations about nothing in particular and
you know, other interesting stuff...
I suffer from Peter
Pan syndrome; I don't want to ever grow up. It seems, though,
that while I wasn't paying attention Wendy and Michael grew up. If
you are a Wendy or a Michael, and want to join the Lost Boys,
please contact me via a note left in the Hangman's Tree.
Alternately, you could message me using that little button on the
right.
I love to drive ... I am most comfortable and relaxed when cruising
somewhere in my car... And I love to travel...
I'm a professional student...
I'm a professional paranoid... And they ARE
actually out to get me.
I signed up here to take the tests (actually, I accidentally signed
up while taking the tests)... then I realised that there were other
people here who were actually worth talking to, so I decided to
fill out my profile so people could find out all about
me.
I'm trying to make friends all over the world, so that I have an
excuse to visit everywhere at some point in my life... If you think
I should visit anywhere in particular, please tell me... Unless
it's the place with demons, fire and brimstone - enough people tell
me I should go there already! :)
Trying to figure out how to remain a student for ever, while still
being able to travel the world...
Coming up with ways to save the world...
Being interested in what other people are interested in... that is
fairly easy for me as I have an interest in just about
everything...
Listening to people... Giving advice to those who want it, and
being a comfort to those who just want to talk...
Babysitting... Kids
and animals seem
to just take a liking to me, I don't know why. And I like looking
after people, so I'm glad that they do!
Knowing where my towel is.
Math ... could you
guess?
Unless it's someone who sees me on a night out... then they
probably notice my non-existant fashion sense, and my dance style
to match...
Movies: I like to watch movies, but purely for short-term
entertainment... I rarely remember a movie a week after I've seen
it... The last movie I remember in great detail is probably
"The
Sound of Music" and that's only because I've seen it so many
times... (at other people's request, I must point out!)
Music: I like almost all kinds of music. I am a big fan of
"oldies" music -
60's 70's 80's kind of stuff,(like the Pina Colada song) but also
appreciate everything from classical and jazz through country to
electronica and hip-hop... About the only things in music which
annoys me are bad remakes of old classics, and 12 year olds singing
about total heartbreak...
Food: I am a foodie! I love food. All food. Even Brussel Sprouts! In a former
life I was on a quest to eat my way around the world via Melbourne
restaurants... Any other foodies out there who want to take part
in this adventure, please let me know... (I still try lots of
stuff, but the adventures are far less fun on your own!)
Thanks to this idea, I'm now compelled to confess that I'm addicted to xkcd...
My mobile phone, my laptop, my car, coffee, maths puzzles, and late nights...
Really, I can do without most of those things, though I normally
tend to spend a lot of time on them. I guess I'd call them things
that are a significant to my personality...
The things which are really important to me, which I would struggle
without, are more like:
Family, friends, spontaneous random
crazyness, learning about stuff (any stuff),
feeling close to God.
Oh, yeah, and I do love my car...
- Out having coffee
with mates,
- dancing in a
nightclub, bar, pub or anywhere else with music, or
- hiding out in a park somewhere, staring at the stars...
- bowling,
pool or air-hockey with
mates,
- "Same thing I'm doing every night, Pinky, trying to take over
the world, Mwahahaha
But I've realised that the point here is to make some claim about
the most private thing that you are, actually, willing to admit -
which if you are anything like me, is not really private at all.
But in case it interests anyone, I'm willing to admit
that:
* I have no
fashion sense. Other than that I never wear fur, because it
doesn't come in my colour.
* I know the (average) prices at houses of ill repute I have never
visited, and of drugs I haven't used.
* I've danced on bars. Sober. On multiple occassions.
* I have been awake for 80 hours straight, once. It was, shall we
say, an "interesting" experience.
* I am a "nice
guy". I finish last. I cope with it.
Seriously, though, I'm pretty easy-going, and tend to get along
with pretty much everybody, so feel free to contact me for any
reason whatsoever... In fact, I'm so middle of the road, that I get
50% friend for almost everybody the moment they sign up!
You really should message me if you know anywhere I really HAVE to
visit, or if you know a really great place to eat, or a really
crazy activity that I just HAVE to try...
You can message me if you want to discuss something deep. Or
something frivolous. I'll respond either way.
You probably don't want to message me if you have an aversion to
people who write with heavy use of ellipses and parenthetical
remarks... I do try to keep my writing formal (or at least,
grammatically correct and without excessively repeated letters or
overzealous abbreviations) but I have a habit of jumping between
thoughts, or letting things trail off...
Oh, and if you signed up here to find your perfect match, and the
computer told you that it's me, that's great. But I don't think I
could be in a relationship with someone who I wasn't already
friends with - so if you're going to write to me, please don't be
offended if I write back as a friend. I'm here to find friends, any
of whom might also proceed to also be partners.
Forget that last paragraph - replace it with "Dating is cool, but
friends is better."
