I am relaxed, bearded, and content.

My Self-Summary

Like many folks, I'm not big on the "writing about myself" thing (although I find myself opening up more the longer I'm registered... not sure what that means), so forgive the brevity of most of my responses. I'm a gradumated (Computer Engineering, minor in Philosophy) layabout that's content to either hang out or go places/do things. I enjoy games (video, board, card, word), frisbee and other screw-around sports, raging against the establishment, and... well, I typically enjoy most things, really.

What I’m doing with my life

I gradumumated from Iowa State, and I'm now working as a programmer at a lab there. It's like I'm still going to college, except I don't have classes!

I’m really good at

Music/rhythm games, N64 Smash Bros., other things?

The first things people usually notice about me

The beard. At least I keep it trim, unlike the many beard-abusers you see these days.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a) All right, I'll admit it. I haven't read a "book"-book in a long time. I've read America: The Book, and Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, and some other liberal claptrap I'm probably forgetting, but other than that, most of my reading since high school has come from the Internet and the occasional newspaper. Back in my reading days, though, I enjoyed the Ender's Game trilogy (YES, trilogy... the series stopped after book 3, no matter how many sequels are released). As well as other random books I picked up. I should get back into reading, not really sure why I stopped. I used to be somewhat of a bookworm.

b) "Super Troopers", "Borat", "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring", "Office Space", "The Big Lebowski", and the other standbys. More of a TV guy.

c) Air, Thievery Corporation, dZihan & Kamien, Bowie, Dragonforce. Varies frequently.

d) Spicy things, burgers, meat products in general.

The six things I could never do without

Glasses, computer, Internet connection, frisbee on a nice day, video games, and people to enjoy the previous two with.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How many more dudes than chicks there are on this site. I learned that being female and having no pictures nets you tons of random IMs and woos from random dudes. Even though I contact ladies with extreme prejudice, it makes me feel like one of THOSE guys when I do, you know?

On a typical Friday night I am

At Welch Ave. (the only worthwhile bar in Ames), having a drink and/or playing Silver Strike.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I... I watch anime sometimes. And I have some anime posters. But they're not on my walls, I swear! I also have a Deus Ex poster, which is also not on my wall. I should put that up, because Deus Ex is awesome.

Also! I put brackets around things in my profile (to make them link to other things) solely because OKCupid told me to. I seem to be very open to suggestion?

You should message me if

You're enthusiastic about beards, or you feel like geeking out about something.
