Graduated from Humboldt State University in northern California with a degree in anthropology. Soon after moved to Costa Rica to assist with a primatological study on capuchin monkeys. Spent some time in Atlanta then moved to Ellensburg in 2010 to work with a chimpanzee sanctuary.

I began my studies as an archaeologist...and archaeology is still very close to my heart. But I grew up with a major love of the living world and especially animals...so eventually as fate would have it, I began working more in biological anthropology/primatology.

About a year and a half-ish ago I made the move to Seattle, found a new job and am focusing on meeting new friends and exploring this awesome city

Thunderstorms are fantastic. I have been through some completely beautiful, awe inspiring lightning/thunderous experiences in my life and I am blown away every time.

Actually right now I am just working and living. Planning on applying for graduate school or continuing to gather field experience, but really I am just taking some time to meet as many wonderful and interesting people as i can.

Also, Thrift Stores. I can't get enough of them. Please, you have a kickass thrift store you know of? Take me!

Been slacking in the reading books department lately. More recently I have been reading anthropology texts and such. Suppose my favorites are varied. Green Eggs and Ham, The Alchemist, Catch 22, Jurassic Park (yes, I know it is full of messed up facts from an author that is really not that great, but I still like the idea), Drop City, Omnivores Dilemma, Next of Kin, Ender series, Lord of the Rings, Encyclopedias, Game of Thrones books, Harrrrrry Pottttter...

Movies...hmm...The Brave Little Toaster, Milo and Otis and Fern Gully will always have special places in my heart. I love beautiful movies like The Fountain, The Fall and What Dreams May Come. But also like myself a good comedy or drama. Something with a good level of re-watchability. Also...Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Been going back to some old loves a lot lately. Decemberists, Modest Mouse, April March, Cat Power, Chris Isaak, Radiohead...even throwing in some Ataris. Love some soul/blues like Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Black Keys, Bill Withers, Billie Holiday and Cab Calloway. The XXThe Knife etc. etc. I also enjoy, and am just now getting back into ambient, minimalist music, and i periodically go through phases marked by listening to a great deal of Rasputina or similar. Have any groups you think I should here? Let me know!

I am a pescatarian (one of those fake vegetarians that still eat seafood). I love sushi and Indian/Pakistani food. I also like cooking made up meals combining a bunch of little tasty things I have around to hopefully make a bigger, tastier, thing.
