My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Like my Twitter profile says: Artist, Christian, coder, conlanger, furry, gainer, gay, lexicographer, Latinist, phoneless, poly, programmer, teetotaler, typographer, vegetarian, writer, dreamer, maker.

I was born and raised in the Chattanooga area but moved to Colorado a couple years after finishing college. I currently work as a ticket monkey on a tech support line, which is my "Good Enough" job supporting me in the things I really enjoy.

I'm pretty passive by nature.

I'm a homebody.

I'm a fun-hating type of guy.

I'm not romantic.

I'm normally too shy to make the first move…even if it's just saying hi.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I try to spend my time either being creative, getting organized, or being social. I don't really go in for video games as much as I used to, though I still enjoy most kinds of music.

I'm a bit of an artist. I should probably be more than a bit of one, as I got my degree in animation when I went to college, but I didn't study it to follow it as a career... I took art in college because I figured it would be something I wouldn't be able to teach myself. (Also because it was one of the only majors that didn't require a speech class, which was an extra bonus.) You can find a lot of my stuff on Fur Affinity under the username 'kohath', and in a couple of other places under the same name. I draw furry art, do a little bit of type design, and also enjoy the occasional sculpture in clay.

(Yeah, I'm a furry. My character's a tiger — a chubby red non-anthro Siberian tiger by the name of Moriarty.)

I'm a bit of a writer. I think of myself as more of a writer than I actually am... I don't have much to show yet, chiefly because while I enjoy writing, revision is much more difficult to apply myself to. You might find one or two stories of mine on SoFurry under the username 'kohath'.

I'm a bit of a programmer. I played with Applesoft BASIC on my IIc when I was a kid, and learned Java in college. I've lately been working with Ruby and Rails at home and VBA at work. I write programs to help with the information I need to manipulate; I think computers shouldn't just passively present us information as it's given to them—they need to be configured to work to our needs and our workflows. My current major project is a Rails app to supplement (and perhaps eventually replace) the wiki serving my dictionary at ttt.frath.net. You can find my code on github under the username 'kohath'.

Yeah, I do a bit of lexicography too. I'm writing a Latin-English/English-Latin dictionary, which has a few thousand entries so far ... though it'll take a long time for it to reach a respectable size at the current rate. I know there are a lot more well-established resources available on the Internet, but the best ones are old enough to be in the public domain, and English has changed a lot since then. Names of plants change, even the scientific ones; names of places are changed and respelled as the places themselves switch countries and languages; even the core senses of ordinary words change, and when one goes to an older dictionary and sees a gloss, one can be at best unenlightened and at worse misled by the 1913ese. I do this on my own because I also want to work with Neo-Latin, where I'd like to be an authority, which is not possible on projects like Wiktionary.

I mentioned I work with Latin. I do participate in Vicipaedia (under the username Mycēs) and Victionarium (as Muke); for the former I generally participate in discussions, and the latter I pretty much laid the foundation of — anything that's customary there in format and practices is due to me, whether good or ill. (I don't do as much on Victionarium now but I'm still a sysop and do occasional maintenance.)

I'm a gainer. I like the larger male form well enough that I'm working on developing that in myself. I'd like to weigh at least 250 lbs, and I think it'd be great to find a partner who wants to help me past that goal.

Recently I've picked up the harmonica and have been learning to play...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'd say I'm pretty good at avoiding boredom: there's more than enough things in life to keep me occupied. I haven't been bored in years. (If you haven't reached that point in your life—Trust me, it's possible. But it's not likely you'll find it if you're just looking for entertainment.)

I'd say I'm pretty bad at choosing favorites...

Books I liked and would read again or already have:
* Adam Cadre's Ready, Okay!
* Geoff Ryman's Air
* Epictetus' Discourses
* Douglas Adams' The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul
* Terry Pratchett's Hogfather and Maskerade among others
* C.S. Lewis' Perelandra
* Thomas Wharton's Salamander
* Jonathan Safran Foer's Everything is Illuminated
...among others...

I'm not sure if I have a favorite movie; I don't watch many these days.

For music, I could probably tell you what I like better if Pandora were better at telling me why I like what I like. (For the most part Pandora has replaced my mp3 collection...)

As far as food goes... I couldn't say. I will say I don't particularly have a sweet tooth, and junk food isn't usually of interest to me. (Hard for someone trying to get fat, right?)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
* Imagination,
* music,
* language,
* stories,
* friends,
* and a computer to keep track of it all.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How short life is.
Think of the things you've done a thousand times, the things you'd like to do a thousand times more.
Now realize that "living through another month" is not likely to be one of them.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

"Let any of you show me a human soul ready to think as God does, and not to blame either God or man, ready not to be disappointed about anything, not to consider himself damaged by anything, not to be angry, not to be envious, not to be jealous; and why should I not say it direct? desirous from a man to become a god, and in this poor mortal body thinking of his fellowship with Zeus. Show me the man."
