My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello! I'm Linton, nice to meet you! I am fascinated by lots of things, from space to writing to food (mmmm cheese), and everything in between. My biggest obsession is music, both listening and collecting. I love shopping record stores. I also really love traveling. Finding neat places in new cities is always fun, but driving the back roads to get there is even better. There's nothing quite like driving a curvy road with the windows down so you can smell the fresh air. New adventures are always fun, especially if they turn into great stories. I enjoy art museums, delicious restaurants, cooking, board and video games, hiking and camping, reading, Netflix marathons, and cheese.

I work at a used book/music store, which only enables my habits. My car is usually messy (who has time to clean it out when there are so many adventures to be had?), though I keep trying. Tea is my favorite hot beverage, though my roommate has gotten me into coffee lately. He might have six+ methods for making it.

I like it when people are silly, adventurous, and spontaneous. I love to listen to stories and grand ideas.

And apparently I'm long winded! So it's your turn. Tell me a little about you!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I run CDs at a used book/music store for my main job, and do some web programming on the side for a friend for his horse racing website.

I've also been getting myself back into writing after putting it on the back burner for several years. I do creative writing, music reviews, and also have a new project I'm working on with some really short pieces.

Early this year I started going through the 1001 Albums to Listen to Before You Die. It's amazing how much stuff I missed growing up! I've also started on an NPR Guide to Classical Music. Anyone want to check out some shows at the ISO?

I have several road trips planned out, both large and small. There are lots of roads and lots of cities to experience!

I've also acquired a couple of books on cheeses and bourbons to try. Maybe one day I'll write the book 1001 Cheeses to Eat (right) Before You Die.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Creating ridiculously cheesy poems and cards for people
Really, doing ridiculous cheesy things for people in general
Misquoting movies and tv shows
Planning road trips
Being disorganized (but it seems like organization to my brain)
Being kind
Being silly
Coming up with ideas
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably either my laugh, or my tendencies to do silly things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

This space is way too small to even begin to answer this. But I'll try!

Let's start with music!

Recently: St. Vincent, Portugal. The Man, UNKLE, Flying Lotus, Nick Cave, Pixies, Yo La Tengo, Eels, The Mountain Goats, Holy Fuck, Menomena, Neko Case, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Always: NIN, Royksopp, The Flaming Lips, Portishead, Trampled by Turtles, Sigur Ros, Regina Spektor, Metric, Sleigh Bells, Mastodon, High On Fire, Killer Mike, Iamamiwhoami, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Martyn, Mark Lanegan, Joanna Newsom, The White Stripes, Otis Redding, Deerhoof, Sonic Youth, The National, Jenny Lewis, Amon Tobin, Calexico, !!!, The Knife, Ghost (BC), The Bird and the Bee, The Books, Gnarls Barkley, OutKast, Broken Social Scene, The Roots, Clint Mansell, Sleater-Kinney, Daft Punk, David Bowie....I'll just stop there, but there's a lot more! Here are some of the bands I've seen live: Yo La Tengo, Calexico, My Brightest Diamond, NIN, The Flaming Lips, Childish Gambino, Mastodon, Opeth, Ghost (BC), The Ting Tings, Feist, Sleigh Bells, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, The National, Arcade Fire, Neko Case, Electric Six, Andy D, Holy Fuck, and many more!

I've not been much of a TV person until lately. We don't have cable, but between Netflix, my roommate's collection, and work, we end up watching an entire series at once. A few of my favorites: Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Dr. Who, LOST, House of Cards, Archer, Game of Thrones, The IT Crowd, Twin Peaks....

Movies: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Amelie, The Royal Tenenbaums, Moon, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dr. Strangelove, Inglorious Basterds, etc...

Books: I love to read, but sadly don't get as much time as I would like. We need longer days! Anyway...The Illustrated Man (or most anything by Bradbury), Lamb - Christopher Moore, The Loved One - Evelyn Waugh, The Foundation Series (Asimov)

Also, Welcome to Night Vale.

And now, for food, in haiku form:

The best: cheese and pie
All other things are below
Even if tasty

Baklava and bread
French fries, sushi, fried chicken
Avocados - yum!

Sweet potatoes are
Delicious too; don't forget
Bacon and hummus
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:

My car
Good friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whatever tangent my mind is on at that point. Could be time travel, jelly fish, a really great song, good times with friends, how the universe works, fun stories to write, where to drive next, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It depends on the Friday! Tonight I'm watching a bunch of Dr. Who. Sometimes I'm out for concerts, hanging out with friends (board game night!), out on the town if there's something fun going on, or every now and then, at work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Just about anything. All you have to do is ask!

it's like we finish each other's....sandwiches.

Just kidding. But if you like playing board games while listening to music, need a road tripping partner, or like going on random adventures, then definitely send me a message.
