My self-summary
Well I'm Australian and in the UK for the long term (forever? Maybe), i'm left handed, I like dark beers, and bacon, and death metal. I like my nerd things: Linux, gadgets, games. And maybe not so nerd things: Photography, playing guitar, exploration/travel, walking. So I've got all that going for me (or not?)

London is home now, there are no plans to get out of here (things can change, but I'd need good reasons).

My greatest adventure was riding my motorbike from Australia to the UK. And that was also the first time I ever left Australia, so I'm prone to doing silly things like that. I can talk endlessly about how awesome Laos, Nepal and Iran are, and why I'll never set foot in the UAE again.

I'm a mostly solitary creature through the week outside of work, I do a bit of non-work hours work and also find I need some quiet time to de-work my brain, that's not a strict rule though. On the weekends I tend to be out and about, pint in hand. Sometimes a pint in both hands as I like to live dangerously.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning constantly. I try to live life to enjoy and experience everything with an aim not to hinder anyone else's enjoyment or experiences. I'm pretty zen now. Travel and photography are the two major pursuits now, they combine nicely. I'll branch out and do whatever that's my fancy though.

I'd like to have another go at travelling round the world some crazy way, I'm open to suggestions (hot air balloon? sure! Kayak? maybe!). But that would be a long way off. Mongolian rally however, I'm up for that if anyone else is.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't look as stupid as I am
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books it's mostly fantasy, I don't read that much however, life seems to be filled with other distractions. Raymond E. Feist, Brent Weeks and Patrick Rothfuss are my favourites. Oliver Sacks is fascinating. And of course Douglas Adams.

For Music, mostly Stoner Rock (but I don't smoke), Metal, Industrial. Metallica, Pantera, NIN, Clutch, Red Fang, Steel Panther, etc. Throw in a bit of Jazz, a very small amount of Country, or even psytrance, then you have an idea of what my collection looks like.

I tend to watch a lot of TV, I'll list a few examples of my recent watching habits: Broad City, Mad Men, Cosmos, Survivor, Game of Thrones (like everyone else)

Movies... Top of the list are things like Everything Must Go, Tiny Furniture, Fight Club, Adventureland, Seven Psychopaths, Wrong.

Food, well, place me anywhere between Singapore and Bangkok and I'll never go hungry.
The six things I could never do without
I lived for so long by making sure I had these things whenever I left my tent or room:
Camera, wallet, phone, keys, passport, and a map.

But I adapt. I could do without any of them really.
On a typical Friday night I am
Itching for beer.
